Sleazy Wonder Soundcasts #9 : Sleazy Wonder & Robbie Ventura present 'Amorphous Africa' ★

★ SLEAZY WONDER SOUNDCASTS #9 ★ SLEAZY WONDER & ROBBIE VENTURA PRESENT : AMORPHOUS AFRICA Believe it or not since the late 20s and possibly even earlier, musicians in the huge continent of Africa had struggled to get their music heard beyond their front door. Nearly every artist and producer had been trying to find a way to get their music beyond their borders. This could be put down to a flawed system of physical distribution and also the varying differences in language and creative sensibilities amongst neighbouring countries. Of course, the dawn of the internet changed that not only for locals but also the dwellers outside of Africa. Me and my good friend Robbie Ventura have been listening and getting down to music from the great continent for many years, starting with Ghanaian Highlife before moving onto deeper cuts from the 80s and becoming influenced by the edits and digging skills of crews like Sofrito Specials and Awesome Tapes. After a usual stop by Piccadilly Records last year we decided to team up on a soundcast and put our heads together to choose out favourite 70s - 80s African records and this is what we came up with! We hope you enjoy this amorphous trip! Find Robbie Ventura on SC : @robbieventura ♥ TRACKLIST ♥ 1. Didrenquo - Sonar Senghor & His Rhythms (Legacy - 2006) 2.
