4. BEDMO DISCO - ILLUSION (from BEDM006 "B-FUNK") - OUT NOW ON BLUE VINYL 12"

BEDMO DISCO - ILLUSION (from BEDM006

As avid followers of the Bedmo Disco Records Soundcloud will know, in June we're celebrating five years of Bedmo Disco with a very special blue vinyl 12" featuring brand new original productions from AWON and BEDMO DISCO. This is the second of four tracks from the EP, which we're calling B-FUNK. It's a slice of heady voodoo boogie produced by Five-Stylez for BEDMO DISCO, featuring additional instruments by AWON. It's called "ILLUSION" and it's been picking up a lot of interest/heat/props in our DJ sets of late. It's pretty heavy, with a serious late night chug and plenty of dubwise electrofunk flavour. Have a listen and let us know what you think. The "B-FUNK" 12" will be released on June 24th. Please note that this is a low res preview file which fades in and fades out. The actual track doesn't do that :)

6. AWON - GOOD LOVIN' (from BEDM006 "B-FUNK") - OUT NOW ON BLUE VINYL 12"

AWON - GOOD LOVIN' (from BEDM006

Here's the third preview (of four) of "B-FUNK", the 5th anniversary, blue vinyl 12" from Bedmo Disco Records. This track is by AWON - who handles the A side of the EP - and it's called "GOOD LOVIN". Think of it as 80s boogie re-invented and re-dubbed, with a rush-inducing MDMA twist (not that we'd know anything about that, of course). We've been playing it relentlessly for months and it always goes down a treat… let us know what you think x The "B-FUNK" 12" is set to land on June 25, or thereabouts. The Soundwave Croatia 2015 Disco & Boogie Boat Party - Part 2 - DJ MARKY

On Monday 10th August, as part of Soundwave Croatia 2015, Bedmo Disco Records set sail on the Adriatic, aboard the Argonaut, for a very special boat party. Our headliner for the day: none other than Brazilian D&B legend DJ Marky, who took the opportunity to play a very special disco/boogie set for the assembled throng of sweaty dancers, ravers and festivalgoers. These are the complete, unedited recordings (minus a few minutes at the start before we pressed record) of that party, one that nobody aboard the Argonaut will ever forget. Part 1 is Bedmo Disco (Awon, Five-Stylez and Sell By Dave), with Part 2 featuring DJ Marky on the decks alone. Check DJ Marky's various social media accounts, and ours, for video footage and photos from what was a thoroughly amazing party! With special thanks to Soundwave Croatia. 8. Calling Lenny (Cosmic Boogie Edit)

Calling Lenny (Cosmic Boogie Edit)

Straight outta Bedmo – that’s Bedminster for non Bristol folk – comes a brand new digital-only label… Bedmo Disco Records! Named after the website, club night and production outfit of the same name, Bedmo Disco Records launches this June with a very special E.P from rising star and friend of the family, Cosmic Boogie. The Liverpudlian producer and DJ has enjoyed a stratospheric rise of late thanks to a series of much-heralded releases on Disco Deviance and, of course, his own Cosmic Boogie imprint. Now he’s kick-starting a busy summer of gigs and festival appearances with a killer set of edits for Bedmo Disco. ‘The Disco Grinch’ is Cosmic Boogie’s first digital release, and it’s a belter. It features four wildly different slabs of dancefloor-friendly disco and electrofunk, all with Cosmic Boogie’s trademark eye for detail and ear for a killer groove. The E.P kicks off with ‘Catch 22’, a sensual slow-jam that’s perfect for those ‘eyes wide shut’ moments. It’s sexy, scintillating and, frankly, a little bit naughty. If it doesn’t make you go a bit wobbly down below, we’ll eat our flat caps. Next up is ‘Must Come Down’, a chunky groover that teases out a lesser-known disco gem for nine action-packed minutes. Think sizzling synth-bass, cut glass strings, heavy percussion and just the right amount of vocal. As we’d say in Bristol, proper job. Bursting out of its third-place billing is ‘Calling Lenny’, an endorphin-releasing beast of shirts-off disco set to fire-up festivals across the globe this summer. With its dizzying disco horns, floor-slaying vocal and thumping groove, ‘Calling Lenny’ is sure to cause a commotion on any disco-minded dancefloor. Rounding off the E.P is the digital bonus ‘Let’s Jam’. Only available for those who buy the whole release, it’s an intergalactic P-funk jam with more wonky percussion than your average crusty drum circle. The goodness doesn’t stop there though. In addition, Bedmo Disco Records will be making another Cosmic Boogie edit available free-of-charge to lucky disco diggers. The frankly rather enormous and funksome ‘Talk To Me’ will be made available as a free download on Juno, www.bedmodisco.com and www.cosmicboogie.co.uk. Bedmo Disco – breakin’ out the happy music!

Since it's the season of giving, we thought we'd give away a little festive treat in the shape of a brand new free track from our man AWON. It's a slinky, seductive, sinewy disco-soul slow jam with spine-tingling pianos, head-nodding grooves, a touch of dub on the drums and a huggable bassline. Bedmo Disco Records is proud to announce the launch of a brand new series of download-only singles, BEDMO DIGITAL. Featuring tried-and-tested re-edits, reworks and original productions, the BEDMO DIGITAL series will feature works from both label regulars and new roster arrivals, with a few sneaky surprises thrown in. The first volume features in-demand reworks from Bristol illustrator-turned-producer FLX ONE and label owners BEDMO DISCO, AKA DJ/producers Five-Stylez and Sell By Dave. This third and final preview features "EVERYBEDMO", a sneaky, scalpel style extension of a little-known Eastern European funk tune from the BEDMO DISCO boys. It’s formidably sweaty, full of energetic grooves and rough-throated vocals. As the vocal says: “Hustle down and do a little groove!” BEDMO DIGITAL 01 is out now at JUNODOWNLOAD.COM!

13. BEDM005 B1: BUMP & BOOM (JTT EDIT) - PREVIEW

BEDM005 B1: BUMP & BOOM (JTT EDIT) - PREVIEW

Following two well-received 12” singles in 2011, Bristol’s Bedmo Disco Records – “The Sound of Bedminster” – returns in 2012 with something rather special: the debut re-edits EP from longtime family member JIMMY THE TWIN. So-called because, you guessed it, he’s a twin, Jimmy has been gathering quite a following on Soundcloud and throughout the disco galaxy for the quality of his no-nonsense reworks. Having already seen two of his most popular re-edits bootlegged by unscrupulous Germans, made a white-hot contribution to the recent Philadelphia International Re-Edits comp on Harmless and provided a heavy cut to the latest Legendary Sound Research release (Legendary Edits), Bristol’s most sophisticated soul brother is ready to make his 12” debut proper. 505 Funk (with an 808 boom) showcases his distinct re-edit style – a combination of vintage drum machine action, deep dancefloor knowledge and a fondness for high quality builds. Each of the four re-edits featured has been re-created using classic Roland drum machines – specifially the TR-505, TR-707 and TR-808. Each has also been widely road-tested on dancefloors – not just by Jimmy and the Bedmo Disco family, but also some of the world’s best disco, boogie, soul and house jocks. The use of vintage drum machines gives 505 Funk (with an 808 boom) a distinctly loose swing often missing from other contemporary re-edits. There’s a deftness of touch and respect for the original material that’s often missing elsewhere. The A-side (named “The 505 Side”) boasts two heavyweight slayers that hark back to the glory days of drum machine funk. First up is “Moonspot Rock”, a ludicrously heavy, lino-tastic re-cut of electro anthem “Breakin’ In Space” that’s been doing the business at our parties for yonks. Also gracing the A is “Foolish”, a glorious re-edit of Paradise Garage fave “Fools Paradise” that has “singalong moment” written all over it (check those snappy analogue handclaps!). If it doesn’t get your spine tingling, there’s something wrong. Flip to the B (dubbed “The Funk Side”) for two subtle reworks of rare groove faves “Bump & Hustle” (the stupidly heavy builder “Bump & Boom” – check that low-end wobble) and “Going Home To See My Baby” (here re-named “Going Home”). Both pack a formidable punch, but leave enough of the original cuts in tact to please all but the most ashen-faced of funk-soul nerds. So there you have it, a re-edit release that treats the original material with respect but also adds some worthy new elements. Bravo Jimmy! ** PLEASE NOTE - THESE ARE 128 KBPS FILES FOR PREVIEW PURPOSES ONLY ** ** THIS EP WILL ALSO BE RELEASED AS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD, A MONTH AFTER THE 12" **

14. JP SOURCE - GROUNDS FOR TEMPTATION [PREVIEW CLIP] - OUT NOW ON 12"

JP SOURCE - GROUNDS FOR TEMPTATION [PREVIEW CLIP] - OUT NOW ON 12

OUT NOW ON 12" VINYL. DIGITAL RELEASE TO FOLLOW IN 2012… One fine day in early 2011, a trio of tracks arrived in the Bedmo Disco Records’ mailbox from a then unknown producer based in Lousiville, Kentucky. Intrigued, we gave them a listen. We were so blown away that we excitedly signed them up immediately. They’ve been doing the business for us – and a select band of DJ guinea pigs – ever since. The producer behind these mind-blowing slabs of heavyweight disco-funk perfection was one JP Source, an exile from the Geordie Ibiza (that’ll be Blackpool) and Geordie Mecca (erm, Newcastle) now living out in the sticks in the States, far from home. The EP’s title, “Get Your Bearings”, is reference to his struggles to come to terms with his new surroundings. Not that you’d detect a hint of melancholy or mild distress in the three edits-with-balls that make up his first EP for Bedmo Disco Records. They’re heavy, relentless, expertly tweaked for maximum dancefloor enjoyment and, above all else, delightfully joyous. This is proper party music for those who aren’t afraid to let their hair down once in a while. Hopefully disco miserablists will find plenty to enjoy, too. First there’s “Groove From The Machine”, an arms-flailing Bohannon rework that teases and titillates for seven and a half epic minutes. It rises and falls in all the right places, setting dancefloors alight (not literally, mind) wherever it’s dropped. Hyperbole? Maybe, but we’ve played it relentlessly for six months and it’s never once failed to get the party started. “Get Your Bearings” is a little more muted but no less incendiary. With its voodoo carnival atmosphere, low-slung bassline and mind-warping vocal samples, it’s like the soundtrack to some kind of weird late night ritual. Then there’s flipside “Grounds For Temptation”, another unashamedly joyous re-cut – this time of an overlooked disco-funk slammer – that turns the original into a marauding, relentless mix of hip-shaking grooves and face-scrunching singalong action. It’s an 109 BPM banger all right. Three tracks, all tried and tested, all disco dynamite. Since he sent us these killer edits, JP Source has begun to pick up interest elsewhere. He recently released an excellent EP of original material on Audio Parallax and has material forthcoming on EDIT, ZZR and Art Star Records. We reckon he’s got a big future. All the more reason to “Get Your Bearings” and dive into his Bedmo Disco debut… "Get Your Bearings" will be released on 12" vinyl in November 2011. ** PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE TRACKS ARE EDITED 128 KBPS MP3s FOR PREVIEW PURPOSES ONLY **

15. Bedmo Disco - Love Jam (Bedmo Disco Dub)

Bedmo Disco - Love Jam (Bedmo Disco Dub)

Following hot on the heels of Bedmo Disco Records’ debut release, the brilliant ‘Disco Grinch’ EP from Cosmic Boogie, comes a brand new three-tracker from label bosses Bedmo Disco – their first EP since 2008. Since their first 12” under the Thumbs Aloft moniker dropped in 2007 (featuring, as it did, summer dancefloor fave ‘Stick Around’, a sneaky Macca rework), Bristol-based Five-Stylez and Sell By Dave have seen their collective reputation rocket thanks to a string of acclaimed re-edits, many of which have found their way into the CD wallets of the best and brightest the disco and electrofunk scene has to offer. Now, with the launch of their own Bedmo Disco Records imprint earlier in the year, the duo are finally ready to release some of their handiwork. ‘It’s A Synth’ is the first part of what the duo are calling ‘The Bedmo Disco Dubs’ – an ongoing project to rework some of their favourite 1980s boogie, electrofunk, soul and disco faves in the style of some of the decade’s finest editors and producers. So while many other commercially available edits add extra digital kicks and noughties production tricks, these ‘Bedmo Disco Dubs’ do not. These are 21st century versions with an authentic 1980s flavour. The EP opens with ‘Love Jam’, a slow-burning slice of simmering sexuality that gradually builds towards a face-scrunching climax. It’s already found favour with some of the scene’s best DJs, and it’s easy to see why; with its heavyweight bassline, sparkly pianos and classic production, it’s sex on wax. Or digitally, as the case may be. Next up is ‘Stone Cold’, a deliciously dubbed-out take on a familiar New York staple that’s divided opinion ever since it was released. The Bedmo Disco version puts more emphasis on the groove, flitting between the best elements of all available versions of the track. A proper dancefloor dub from the old skool. The EP closes with another much-played Bedmo Disco banger, the acclaimed ‘Down Shep’. Like the Latin Rascals jamming with Joy Orbison at a BB&Q studio session, Sell By Dave’s dub adds some contemporary spice to proceedings whilst sticking true to the principles of the ‘Bedmo Disco Dubs’ project. No wonder it’s been getting some serious plays from the heads. ‘It’s A Synth’ is the first of a trio of Bedmo Disco Records’ releases this autumn. Artwork for the release comes from up-and-coming illustrator Victoria Topping (www.victoriatopping.com), whose next-level sleeve design encapsulates everything that’s great about the EP. ** 'It's A Synth' will be released by Bedmo Disco Records on digital formats (192MP3/320 MP3/Lossless WAV) in November 2010 ** PLEASE NOTE: THE ABOVE TRACKS ARE 128 KBPS FOR PREVIEW ONLY
