ROBERTO MASI BIOGRAPHY
Roberto Masi was born in Palermo, Sicily
on May 18th 1966.
Fan of funk since he was a kid, he starts proposing
funky music in night clubs when the term “DJ” didn’t mean much. It was
the beginning of the 80’s.
Once R.M. finishes his studies he
dedicates himself completely to club music. By the end of the eighties
he records his first piece “Body in motion”, produced by the label
Palmares of Milan.
During the beginning of the 90’s he moves to
Naples and works for an important label in those days, UMM – Flying
Records, where he achieves precious tech experience in studio.
after the Flying Records experience he returns to his home town
Palermo, where BLAST project takes place (N°1 in the major British Chart
“Coolcut”), this carries R.M. all over Europe, playing in major House
clubs: Great Britain, Germany, Portugal, France, Spain, Finland.

“Crazy man” wins
an award as the best dance record in 1994 after selling 1 million copies
In Palermo he starts producing a series of remixes. For
the following 28 years R.M. plays in major Sicilian clubs: REBIBBIA
(Palermo), POISON IVY (cefalù), TAITU’ (Taormina), MARABU’ (Taormina),
LADY GODIVA (Giardini naxos), MIAMI (Catania) and launches together with
his partners the memorable REBIBBIA CLUB of Palermo, where all major
international house music artists played every week. It was 1995.
the late 90’s R.M. moves to Florence and plays in various clubs in
Tuscany (Mood, Gallery, and PACHA’ of Riccione, resident DJ on Sundays
After 5 years he moves to Bologna and works for the
label “Expanded Music” (Mantra Vibe). Major projects:

Roberto Masi plays at the “LINK” in Bologna and later
becomes resident DJ at “MAFFIA” club in Reggio Emilia on Fridays for
Pandemonio Mantra Vibe nights (2002).
In Bologna he is noticed by an
important Italian pop group “SUBSONICA”. They appreciate R.M’s sound and
productions and decide to commit Roberto and his partner Marco Bertoni
various remixes such as Nuvole Rapide and the recording of the
soundtrack and album MOTEL CONNECTION, Santa Maradona that later will be
named “Give me a good reason to wake up” for “Mescal Records” Turin.
this period he carries out another major project “DRIVE RED FIVE” for
Distinctive Records, which becomes a great success in Great Britain.
