DBS007 : Don Rimini - Planet Earth

Buy Links: Freaky City EP on Beatport Talk about worldly: Don Rimini hails from France, lives in Belgium, has an Italian artist name, plays tracks like a frenetic UK DJ and is in love with Chicago house music. His country of origin aside, Rimini is a truly talented producer, and we anticipate that the 'Freaky City' EP is the first of many Dirtybird releases from him. Containing two no-nonsense bangers, 'Motel Ride' and 'Planet Earth', the EP barely lets you catch your breath between the tracks' jacked beats and vocal bits. 5. Moonbootica - "My Hot Dope" (Don Rimini Skate Park Mix) // FREE DOWNLOAD

Moonbootica -

OUT NOW iTunes bit.ly/1iuu9A0 Beatport btprt.dj/1g48dt4 About.... Moonbootica "My Hot Dope" / Moonbootica & Reset! "Party Life" EP Those scintillating, gyrating, irritating Moonbootica boys are back to slap you into action with a sizzling EP and this time they’ve brought some new friends with them. Easing you in with “My Hot Dope” in its unadulterated original album form, the party really starts with the manic Milano party guests Reset! A collective of DJs, composers, producers and promoters and now a fully-fledged live act, the guys have played legendary parties as far afield as LA and Australia and, of course, in Milan’s finest establishments such as Parco Sempione and Magazzini Generali. Having remixed the likes of Fatboy Slim, Audio Bullys and Cassius (more than once) and released a string of EPs on Cheap Thrills, Reset! have teamed up with Moonbootica to add their unique blend of huge basslines and epic breakdowns – they like to call it Turbofunk – to the Moonbootylicious mayhem we already know and love. “Party Life” does what it says on the can. Staccato tomatoes for your bloody marys. “Wild Life” is a mesmeric moto guzzi workout for our favourite moped gang. Hanseatic Acrobatics and Latin Funk in the trunk. There’s more. Variations on the “My Hot Dope” theme come courtesy of: Purple Disco Machine from OFF Recordings, PDM dig a little deeper into the foundations of house and comes up with another dope diamond. PDM stands for Purple Disco Machine but it could also stand for Proper Dance Music. Don Rimini (DIM MAK, Southern Fried) claims to have spent one third of his life in clubs. Judging by the historical flavour of his tunes, he spent the other two thirds listening to house and techno from Chicago to Detroit. This guy knows his stuff. Either that or he’s been playing tennis and skating those pipes. Funkin Matt (Fool's Gold, DIM MAK) needs no introduction but he gets one anyway. Suffice to say he’s released on Sidney Samson’s Samsobeats, Dim Mak and Fool’s Gold as well as on his own Fjordin imprint. His rather more technoid sound rewrites the Dutch blueprint without compromising the standards of excellence we have come to expect from the Netherlands. Last but not least, Tagteam Terror (Top Billin, Moonbootique) are not as scary as they sound, in fact their jackin’ house with a nod to old school and French house make ya feel all warm inside and get you on the dancefloor when the bell rings. Show some love... www.facebook.com/Moonbootica www.facebook.com/wearereset www.facebook.com/purplediscomachine www.facebook.com/donrimini www.facebook.com/TagteamTerror

FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) (Original) 2. The Future Is Ours (Original) 3. Highlight (Original) What the Don? He's been blowing minds with DJ gigs all over the world from Egypt to Australia, from USA to Japan, turning heads with festival performances everywhere from 'Hardfest' to 'I Love Techno', from 'Sonar' to 'Pukkelpop'. But DON RIMINI manages to raise the bar once again with his first live show touring all across France at the moment: Some futuristic audiovisual assault called 'A Live Odyssey'. So no doubt it's about time he drops a new EP. We're proud that the 'Fear Of Missing Out EP' will see the light of day via No Brainer Records. In case you're familiar with the Don's work on his remixes for The Count & Sinden (Domino), Beataucue (Kitsuné), Young MC (Delicious Vinyl) or his previous EPs like 'Nlarge Your Parties' and 'Kick'n Run' you might ask yourself: 'Why house?' This one's DON RIMINI's tribute to his roots of House and Disco. Updating these by adding a little bit of drive, overdrive, megadrive and ADHD. 'FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)' is American English for a state of mind I've always been in actually. Even before internet and cell phones. Glad someone found a nice name for it, not so glad it's considered an illness. The tune makes you wanna kiss the closest girl under the closest disco ball asap. A pure ass shaker. God bless. 'The Future Is Ours' is nothing short of an extremely funky dancefloor revolution. Kickin' the kitsch out of disco house. Are you ready for a full body workout or like Pop Will Eat Itself would sample it: 'Can you dig it?' 'Highlight' is blinding me. Headbanger disco spilling over with positive energy. This one's got disco balls. And you're still asking yourself: 'Why house?' Because!!! Don can do as Don pleases. Plus house is just 'the uncontrollable desire to jack your body' according to Fingers Inc. Listen now 'cause we don't want you to suffer from the 'Fear Of Missing Out'. 'DONde esta la Discoteca?'
