2. Theme from Harry's Game

Theme from Harry's Game

This is my instrumental cover version of Harry's Game, written by Pol Brennan and performed by Irish group Clannad. The first time I ever heard this song was when I watched the live U2 concert Under a Blood Red Sky; it was being played during the introduction. It has been used in a few other places, I believe. This recording was created with Acoustica Mixcraft running under Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Hope you enjoy it.

8. Helter Skelter Instrumental U2 Style

Helter Skelter Instrumental U2 Style

Greetings all. So the way this track started all began when I was upgrading my version of Mixcraft to the latest release, and then I noticed a preset called "Dirty Duck" as I was looking around. I wanted to hear what it sounded like, and the next thing you know, I'm using it to play the beginning notes to "Helter Skelter," and I thought it sounded so cool that I decided I just *had* to make a recording of it. Actually at first I thought I was going to do something very rudimentary, but you know how things go ... one thing leads to another, it becomes more elaborate, and the next thing you know your initial idea turns into something much bigger. So this is essentially an instrumental version of Helter Skelter by The Beatles, but being the huge U2 fan that I am, and my familiarity with the way they covered it on Rattle and Hum, that's the version that I used as my guide. Although, I did listen to the original song a few times on Spotify, and hopefully you'll agree that I did somewhat capture the raw grit of the original track, with a synthesized twist to it as well. So, here it is, my Helter Skelter instrumental cover version. Enjoy. Hardware/software used: PC running Windows 10 Home x64, Yamaha MOXF6 master keyboard, Mixcraft Pro Studio digital audio workstation. Additional mastering provided by LANDR.

9. All I Wanted to Say was I Love You

All I Wanted to Say was I Love You

A sad love song. Have you ever wanted to say these words? (Note to my listeners: The reason I've been re-uploading this piece is because I've been re-recording it in an attempt to improve the quality of the vocals. Believe me, I'm doing my best.)

10. Neil is Watching You (Subdivisions Tribute and Remix)

Neil is Watching You (Subdivisions Tribute and Remix)

Greetings, and thank you for listening to the latest track I have put together with REAPER on my Windows 10 PC. A little extra background is needed for this one. First off, I am a Rush fan, and a while back I discovered that you could actually buy a plug-in that consists of the actual samples of one of Neil Peart's drum kits (Neil Peart is the incredible drummer for Rush). I thought this was pretty amazing, and I finally got around to purchasing this plug-in. But the question became, what to do with it? Well, after playing around with the kit and then stumbling upon some other synth sounds that I was trying out in my library, it hit me -- a cover version of Subdivisions, one of their more popular tracks from the album Signals. But now, here's the thing. The music that Rush does can be rather complex, and I certainly don't claim to have the same skills that Mr. Peart does. But I desperately wanted to put something together that shows off the sonic qualities of the plug-in. The end result is this Subdivisions tribute: it's a cover, sure, but it's more of a remix, something that combines the best parts of the track (that I have the proficiency to play) into a unique tune of its own. The most important parts of Subdivisions have been captured, as well as the overall feel and spirit of the music. All I ask is that you forgive me for maybe omitting a little bit here and a little bit there, and filling in certain parts of the song with new material (such as snare drum crescendos) whose function it is to bridge certain parts of the song together. Otherwise this would have been something that would have taken much, much longer to finish. Thanks, and I hope you enjoy it! Legal tidbit: Subdivisions is Copyright (C) by Rush. Other sounds appearing in the song provided by Native Instruments and E-MU.
