11. Luna City Express - Hello From Planet Earth (CD) (MHR011-2)

Luna City Express - Hello From Planet Earth (CD) (MHR011-2)

After Moon Harbour’s first artist album, the much commended “Restless” by Matthias Tanzmann in spring 2008, comes the long-awaited 'Hello from Planet Earth' by Luna City Express! Marco Resmann and Norman Weber have been an integral part of the Moon Harbour inner circle from the very beginning, and have made themselves indispensable during the last four years as a DJ and Producer duo - consummate purveyors and subtle innovators of house. In the last few years the duo has forged quite a distinctive sound and their first album shows off the various facets of their love for this music, by keeping the balance between classic house with its US American roots and contemporary European developments. “Hello from Planet Earth” is an eclectic work which displays the essence of their sound - the key being the shape and ease of funk, a high musicality and a cheeky sense of humor. Tracks which brim with this classic Luna City Express style house sound are “Celebration Of Life”, “Dream In Berlin”, “MS Gera”, “Mr. Jack” and “Parish Fair”, all filled with depth, organic funk and the right drive for the best hours in the club. In these tracks the Berlin-Chicago axis is clearly apparent, all done with the right amount of reverence while still looking to the future. The album also delves further into an unseen side of the duo: introverted, dense tracks, inspired by Dub and Downbeat, like “Plata”, “Heaven’s Gate”, “Time & Space” or “Orange Softcake”. The short interludes, „Floripa“ and „Magic Bubbles“, 2 experimental ambient tracks, connect the dots and complete the package. With “Hello from Planet Earth”, Luna City Express have really come into their own, and the result is a more impressive sound than ever - reflecting both their respect and passion for house music.

Hello Planet - Asriel

Woaaaah. It's been a while, hasn't it? I'm not sure at what point I stopped making Underloid covers, but it was probably when I got into another fandom and stopped being as active in UT. I kinda left you guys hanging, didn't I? Sorry about that, haha. I've had this cover in my folders since April, but I've been forgetting to post it so it's gathered dust in there. I originally intended for this to be a surprise "hey, this'll be my last cover, so have a bittersweet farewell song from the goat baby!!" sorta thing but... I'm not... too sure now...? I enjoyed making the covers but fell out of it. Quite a few people seem to enjoy the covers I made (I've gotten a few requests over the months too!) so it makes me wonder if I should make this a sort of small off-to-the-side hobby? Makin the covers, you know? I'm not even sure if Underloid is popular anymore haha. But I don't know. Decisions, decisions. Let this song be a glimmer of "maybe", okay? Also! I've seen a couple of my covers posted elsewhere (with credit, thank goodness)! I don't mind one bit (unless I'm left uncredited), but I would really appreciate it if you ask me before reuploading somewhere! ^v^" A couple of these covers gave me a lot of trouble (LOLOL and Witch Hunt, to name a few) and the time I spent tweaking and tuning and everything was just a lot. I would just feel a little better if you asked me first! I'll try to check my email a lot more often to watch for comments or messages asking for permission to repost

16. Luna City Express - Hello From Planet Earth Remixes Vol.1 (MHR048-6)

Luna City Express - Hello From Planet Earth Remixes Vol.1 (MHR048-6)

Hailing from Berlin Norman Weber and Marco Resmann released an album in autumn 2009 that can be easily called a success. This is why there were no problems at all to find an illustrious circle of remixers. Mathias Kaden starts off with his Smaragd Remix of “Diamonds & Pearls“, one of the more successful tracks of the record. Mathias sticks to his style. He knows how to experiment with the e-piano snippets from the original track. All this is supported by an ambitiously grooving beat that simultaneously accomplishes a certain airy lightness. This is something that only he can do! Most people will know Ray Okpara from Mannheim as member of the Oslo-Crew. His remix strips “Celebration of Life” down to its essence: the groove. Ray keeps this driving and consistence until the last beat. Catz’n’Dogz from Stettin have taken care of the humorous “Mr. Jack“. Contrary to the original track the vocals rather act as an instrument and are based on a beat that puts you under a spell from the very first second and doesn’t release you until the track is over. As a digital bonus the New Zealander Simon Flower provided one his typically organic remixes; this time “Heaven’s Gate“. It is the perfect finish to the first part of the remixes.

17. Luna City Express - Hello From Planet Earth Remixes Vol.2 (MHR049-6)

Luna City Express - Hello From Planet Earth Remixes Vol.2 (MHR049-6)

Hailing from Berlin Norman Weber and Marco Resmann released an album in autumn 2009 that can be easily called a success. This is why there were no problems at all to find an illustrious circle of remixers. Jena-based Robag Wruhme already contributed one remix to Matthias Tanzmann’s „Bulldozer“ in 2006. The old partnership was now revived and Robag Wruhme was asked for a re-interpretation of another Moon Harbour track. His version of “Mr. Jack” captivates you with its mix of funk and darkness and has an overwhelming effect on the dance floor. Reboot reworked the track called “Parish Fair”. He stripped the original that contains a strong percussion element even further down to the basics and focused more on an elaborate development of the break. Martinez‘ remix of “Time & Space“ proves once more that the Copenhagen artist is really capable of making a track flow. The longer the track is playing the more obvious it becomes that his organic beats form perfect unity with the original theme; as if they were made for it from the start. Also the second part of the remixes includes an exclusive digital bonus track. This time by Moon Harbour artist Dan Drastic that via his remix accomplishes in transferring the track called “MS Gera“ from space to earth: he partitions the main theme and completely leaves out the saxophone of the original. This way he achieves a dry and driving reprint of the original.
