Andre Sobota - Jump [KYB016] Preview

With early support from John Digweed, Dosem, Guy J, Cristoph, Gabriel Rhome, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Jody Wisternoff, Nick Warren, Darin Epsilon we are proud to present another cracker of a release by our friend and talented musician Andre Sobota. He is no stranger to the Kyubu family, in fact, Andre released some solid tracks on our imprint back in 2014. Our Brazilian maestro has since released records on reputable imprints like Toolroom Records, Ajundadeep and Manual Music and now blesses us with a fine two-tracker that is just right for the summer. "Can't Remember" is an easy to listen too, melancholic house tune, that will take you on a journey to the Brazilian coastline and watch the sun set. The swaying synths and indeginous vocals all blend into an easy to listen to house track that will surely shake some behinds in these upcoming months. "Jump" offers a nice change of pace, building on an acid, 303 style, lead sound and some sweet eighties pads. It has an attitude of it's own, takes it's sweet time and ties the release together quite nicely.

5. Mike McFly - Lazer Boy [KYB017] Preview

Mike McFly - Lazer Boy [KYB017] Preview

We are very pleased to welcome Kyubu regular Mike McFly back with a follow up to his last killer release, the Kill Switch EP. This new release features two tracks "Kill Joy" and "Lazer Boy" and once again Mike delivers two dance floor bombs, both of which are laced with his own unique sound. "Kill Joy" features a thick drumline, prominent percussion sounds, twisted vocal edits and a dubby, right to your chest, bassline. The break brings us some more dubbed out reggae influences before we build to the second climax where more dirt is entered into the mix. Next up "Lazer Boy" takes some similar ideas but works a different angle, delivering a creative and unique vibe that compliments the title track perfectly. The simple, yet effective bass melody sits plays around with the vocal sample. A fresh, melancholy melody is introduced in the second act of the track, adding a bit of panache. The skippy beats with hints of nineties UK Garage influences keep the track tight and rolling in the right direction. If you are fan of big chunky beats, bold bass lines and hooky synth lines you owe it to yourself to check out the "Kill Joy EP" Thanks for listening!

Andre Sobota - Fallout (Original Mix) [KYB005] Preview

KYUBU are back with two slammin cuts from Brazilian wonder kid Andre Sobota. So lets not beat around the bush and lets get to the music... The title track Fallout, is a sophisticated building gem that develops and strengthens, delivering an energetic 'moment' during your set. Slightly moody edged, yet with hallmark Sobota melodics, this is a bit of a winner! Backing up the EP we have Southern Sundance that is a smile inducing warm slab of goodness. Big pads evolve, creating tension as the track reaches its euphoric break, before those epic key changes land to take the roof off. The description of this being 'Big' doesn't do this track justice! A monster EP from KYUBU once again, don't miss this!

8. TR20 - Cosmic Order (Reinier Zonneveld Remix) [KYB015]

TR20 - Cosmic Order (Reinier Zonneveld Remix) [KYB015]

Kyubu are back again after a string of releases in the past months from new artists like Mike McFly, Unitbop and Digital Marks. It's the label bosses themselves, who turn it up this time under their TR20 guise and deliver a banging, techno oriented EP. 'Cosmic Order' is a slow building, dark, techno track with thick layers of analog synths and drum machines accompanying a simple, yet very effective bassline. The melody, which baths in reverb, ties the track together perfectly to deliver a Drumcode type of vibe. Dutch-producer Reinier Zonneveld gives 'Cosmic Order' the good old, pounding techno treatment that it deserves. Zonneveld, who has garnered attention from techno greats like Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin and Carl Cox, delivers an instant warehouse classic that we can be proud of for years to come. 'Gravity Well' is a cut that leans on it's analog layers and delivers a deep and melancholy vibe, which is smeared through the cracks and crevices of this production. So much so, that we can truly see ourselves floating in space! Grab a copy while they're hot!

Mike McFly - Zdarling [KYB012] Preview

Early support from Habischman, Nemome, Dale Middleton, Agents Of Time, D-Nox, Martin Roth, Darin Epsilon, Just Her, Chris Fortier, Soul Button DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE NOW: https://pro.beatport.com/release/kill-switch/1701586 Born and raised in the Netherlands, in his teenage years Mike quickly became infatuated with electronic music. It was the likes of Cassius, Daft Punk and DJ Falcon that pulled him towards the French House realm. The uplifting melodies and funk driven bass lines inspired him to dive in to audio production for himself. Through his work ethic and passion for the craft, Mike powered through a few other genres before arriving at his true love: dirty, gritty, Chicago House. The trademark French filtered break downs remained, but today are accompanied by bass heavy and filth covered beats. And so making his debut on the ever reliable Kyubu, Mike delivers three quality tracks of tastiness. 'Kill Switch' is a phat solid club gem, full of drive and a moody slant, its big bass propels the track along, a nicely effected synth top line and some squelchiness all culminate, before the big filter drop. Big! 'Monrovia' is full of wonkiness, quirky and cool, and rather dirty. But also beautiful and melodic. A tale of two vibes, and we like it. Rounding things off we find 'Zdarling' with its deep but warm tones, meeting clunky percussion, rising tones and a lovely swung feel about the groove. Its almost is like summer is back. Well we can pretend can't we.
