Imagine (cover John Lennon)

My work colleague and friend Mats P. in Stockholm asked if I could record a version of John Lennon's "Imagine" but I protested. You just can not record something so famous, it would be like recording a cover of "Yesterday". It can not be done better than the original. However, my wife went to Örebro and shopped so OK then, I went down to the basement and had a try. Hope you enjoy it. Version #2 darker pianos, new vocals. Version #3 and #4 mixed with Logic X. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Imagine there's no heaven - It's easy if you try No hell below us - Above us only sky Imagine all the people - Living for today Imagine there's no countries - It isn't hard to do Nothing to kill or die for - And no religion too Imagine all the people - Living life in peace You may say I'm a dreamer - But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us - And the world will be as one Imagine no possessions - I wonder if you can No need for greed or hunger - A brotherhood of man Imagine all the people - Sharing all the world You may say I'm a dreamer - But I'm not the only one I hope someday you'll join us - And the world will live as one

In the summertime (cover Mungo Jerry)

"In the Summertime" is the debut single by British rock band Mungo Jerry. Written and composed by it´s lead singer, Ray Dorset, it celebrates the carefree days of summer. The song took him only ten minutes to write and compose. In 1970 it reached number one in charts around the world. It is considered one of the best-selling singles of all time with an estimated 30 million copies sold. Instruments: 6 x vocals, telecaster, ackguitar, 2 x banjos, ukulele, bass and drums. Alesis synth: 2 x pianos. Mixed in Logic Pro X. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - In the summertime when the weather is high You can get right up and touch the sky When the weather's fine You got women, you got women on your mind Have a drink, have a drive* Go out and see what you can find If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal If her daddy's poor just do what you feel Speed along the lane Do a ton or a ton and twenty-five** When the sun goes down You can make it, make it good in a lullaby We're no threat, people We're not dirty, we're not mean We love everybody but we do as we please When the weather's fine We go fishin' or go swimmin' in the sea We're always happy Life's for livin' yeah, that's our philosophy Sing along with us Dee dee dee-dee dee Dah dah dah-dah dah Yeah we're hap-happy Dah dah-dah Dee-dah-do dee-dah-do dah-do-dah Dah-do-dah-dah-dah Dah-dah-dah do-dah-dah When the winter's here, yeah it's party time Bring your bottle, wear your bright clothes It'll soon be summertime And we'll sing again We'll go drivin' or maybe we'll settle down If she's rich, if she's nice Bring your friends and we'll all go into town * The song's lyric "have a drink, have a drive, go out and see what you can find" led to the song's somewhat ironic use in a UK advert for the campaign ”Drinking and driving lives”. **a ton = to reach 100 mph in a motor vehicle

My Sweet Lord (cover George Harrison, extended version)

--------------------------------------------------------- I always wanted to record My Sweet Lord, but I was worried about two things: the slide guitar harmonies and the choir. There was no way to cheat at it, so I practiced the slide guitar a lot and I built up five different voices for the choir (the neighbors probably wondered after "Hallelujah" and "Hare Krishna" over and over again). Hope you like it. This recording was made with 25 tracks (!): i.e. 1 vocal+7 choir, 5 guitars, 4 slide guitars, Hammond, Rhodes, Base and Drums/Percussion. --------------------------------------------------------------- Lyrics: Slide intro My sweet lord - Hm, my lord - Hm, my lord I really want to see you - Really want to be with you Really want to see you lord - But it takes so long, my lord My sweet lord - Hm, my lord - Hm, my lord I really want to know you - Really want to go with you Really want to show you lord - That it won't take long, my lord (hallelujah) My sweet lord (hallelujah) - Hm, my lord (hallelujah) - My, my sweet lord (hallelujah) I really want to see you - Really want to see you Really want to see you, lord - Really want to see you, lord But it takes so long, my lord (hallelujah) M-My sweet lord (hallelujah) - Hm, my lord (hallelujah) - My, my, my, my lord (hallelujah) I really want to know you (hallelujah) - Really want to go with you (hallelujah) Really want to show you lord (ooh) - That it won't take long, my lord (ooh) Hmm (hallelujah) - My sweet lord (hallelujah) - My, my, my, lord (hallelujah) Slide solo Hm, my lord (hare krishna) - My, my, my lord (hare krishna) Oh (krishna, krishna) - Oh-uuh-uh my Lord (hare hare) Now, I really want to see you (hare rama) - Really want to be with you (hare rama) Really want to see you lord (aaah) - But it takes so long, my lord (hallelujah) - Hm, my lord (hallelujah) My, my, my lord (hare krishna) - Hmm (hare krishna) My sweet lord (krishna krishna) - Hmm (hare hare) Hm, hm (Gurur Brahma) - Ooh (Gurur Vishnu) Ohoh (Gurur Devo) - Hm, hm (Maheshwara) My sweet lord (Gurur Sakshaat) - My my my my lord (Parabrahma) My, my, my lord (Tasmayi Shree) - Mmm (Guruve Namah) My sweet lord (Hare Rama) (hare krishna) My sweet lord (hare krishna) My sweet lord (krishna krishna) - My lord (hare hare) Slide outro

Cheek to cheek (cover Fred Astaire)

New version 2015, added some brass. New mix 2016. "Cheek to Cheek" is a song written by Irving Berlin in 1935, for the Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie Top Hat (1935). In the movie, Astaire sings the song to Rogers as they dance. The song was nominated for the Best Song Academy Award for 1936. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Heaven, I'm in Heaven And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak And I seem to find the happiness I seek When we're out together dancing, cheek to cheek Heaven, I'm in Heaven And the cares that hang around me thro' the week Seem to vanish like a gambler's lucky streak When we're out together dancing, cheek to cheek Oh! I love to climb a mountain And to reach the highest peak But it doesn't thrill me half as much As dancing cheek to cheek Oh! I love to go out fishing In a river or a creek But I don't enjoy it half as much As dancing cheek to cheek Dance with me I want my arm about you The charm about you Will carry me - thro' to Heaven Heaven - I'm in Heaven And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak And I seem to find the happiness I seek When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek When we're out together dancing cheek to cheek

Layla (cover Eric Clapton)

New version 2016: new bass, drums and vocals. Still no slide efforts. History: my wife went shopping at IKEA and I made this recording in about five hours - but the mixing took at least six hours.. :-) No backgrounds if you suspected that, I´m playing it all. Clapton originally wrote "Layla" as a ballad, with lyrics describing his unanswered love for Pattie Boyd. The recording consisted of six guitar tracks: a rhythm track by Clapton, three tracks of harmonies played by Clapton against the main riff, a track of slide guitar by Allman, and one track with both Allman and Clapton playing duplicate solos. (I made five guitar tracks with my Les Paul, but so far no slide guitar - MR) Shortly afterward, Clapton returned to the studio, where he heard Gordon playing a piano piece he had composed separately. Clapton, impressed by the piece, convinced Gordon to allow it to be used as part of the song."Layla's" second movement was recorded roughly a week after the first, with Gordon playing his piano part, Clapton playing acoustic guitar and slide guitar, and Allman playing electric and bottleneck slide guitar. -------------------------------------------------------------------- What'll you do when you get lonely And nobody's waiting by your side? You've been running and hiding much too long. You know it's just your foolish pride. Layla, you've got me on my knees. Layla, I'm begging, darling please. Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind. I tried to give you consolation When your old man had let you down. Like a fool, I fell in love with you, Turned my whole world upside down. Chorus Let's make the best of the situation Before I finally go insane. Please don't say we'll never find a way And tell me all my love's in vain. Chorus Chorus --------------------------------------------------------------------

When You´re Gone (cover Bryan Adams & Mel C)

Featuring my daughter Ellinor, vocals and my friend Patrik Wester, guitar solo. 4:th mix. "When You're Gone" is a song by Canadian musician Bryan Adams, from his album On a Day Like Today (1998). The song features Melanie C of the Spice Girls. The song was written by Adams and Eliot Kennedy. The song peaked at number three on the UK Singles Chart and spent 15 weeks in the UK Top 40, with nine of these in the Top 10. The song is frequently featured at Adams' concerts. He usually picks a female out of the audience to sing the song with him. As such, it appears on several CD and DVD releases. Melanie C and Bryan Adams have played the song together a couple of times in concert. Duet versions have been released on Adams' "Cloud Number Nine" single (1999) and on Melanie C's "If That Were Me" single (2000). ------ 1) I`ve been wandering around the house all night wondering what the hell to do I'm trying to concentrate but all i can think of is you well the phone don't ring cuz my friends ain't home I'm tired of being all alone got the TV on cuz the radio's playing songs that remind me of you Chorus: Baby when you're gone - I realize I'm in love the days go on and on - and the nights just seem so long even food don't taste that good - drink ain't doing what it should things just feel so wrong - baby when you're gone 2) I've been driving up and down these streets trying to find somewhere to go yeah I'm lookin' for a familiar face but there's no one I know this is torture - this is pain - it feels like i'm gonna go insane I hope you're coming back real soon -cuz I don't know what to do

You gave me the answer (cover Wings)

Second mix: Added a solo jazzy guitar instead of synth trumpet. Third mix: put the trumpet back again. Added an extra acoustic guitar. Venus and Mars from 1975 is the fourth album by Wings. Released as the follow-up to the enormously successful Band on the Run. McCartney has occasionally paid tribute to his father, James, who led his own big band in his youth, by writing "Music Hall numbers." Other such songs from McCartney's catalogue include "When I'm Sixty-Four" and "Honey Pie”. (John Lennon called them ”Granny Songs”) To enhance the realism of this period pastiche, McCartney recorded his lead vocals through a filter that removed much of the lower-end frequencies to help emulate the sound of singing through a megaphone, the signature sound of Rudy Vallee, which was a common recording technique during the 1920s, where singers like Vallee and Al Jolson had to compensate for the poor reception of primitive recording equipment at that time. In concert, McCartney often dedicated this song to Fred Astaire ————————————————————————————————————————————————— You gave me the answer
 To love eternally
 I love you and you
You seem to like me Whenever we wander
 The local folk agree
 I love you and you
You seem to like me Heading back to old familiar places
Places where the cobwebs blow away
I can forget the airs and graces Solo You'll never be crowned by the aristocracy
To their delight, you'd merely invite
them in for a cup of tea And I love you and you
 You seem to like
You seem to like
 You seem to like me
