Jackmaster K - Loving the vibes on this, particularly Adrift, lovely vocals over lush chords, perfect for the deeper part of a set. Giom - Really sweet tracks, thanks guys! Esa & Mervin Granger - Nice stuff and will be defo be playing them out this weekend cheers Drop Out Orchestra - love Smoky. thanks for sending. Chris Coco - wicked tunes, perfect for the Melodica radio show. Blurb: The Los Angeles based Steve Huerta popped up on our radar via his releases on the formidable Amadeus Records and Dirt Crew Recordings. Kicking off the EP is the title track 'Smoky', a late night house jam with sombre piano chords that weave their way round the track like hazy smoke in dimly lit room. Melancholic vocal cuts add a hefty slab of soul to the production. On the flip side is 'Adrift', deep pads are the order of the day here. Stretching across the track like a warm blanket, only briefly changing to climb up the scale. The bass line is perfect simplicity, 3 deep chugs of the sub are juxtaposed by a brief arpeggiated refrain. Available on 12" vinyl and digital download.

Premiere: Huerta 'No Business Here'

Berlin-based DJ and producer Huerta makes his first appearance on the rising London imprint @threefingerzmusique with his ‘Am Ende’ EP, featuring the dreamy, delicate house cut ‘No Business Here’. Following releases on esteemed labels such as Dirt Crew, Amadeus and Let's Play House, Huerta’s firmly established himself as a strong purveyor of carefully crafted productions. He’s become known for using organic textures to deliver rhythm focused material and his latest release covers the full spectrum of his sound. ‘No Business Here’ leads off with a deep and jazzy bassline laying the foundation for an intricate percussive arrangement to build as hypnotic fluttering piano licks carry the track to new heights. It’s the ideal summer tune for day party season and it could not be released at a more perfect time. The ‘Am Ende’ EP, a vinyl release limited to 500 copies, is set to drop on July 30.

12. Lady Natasha Spender

Lady Natasha Spender

Kirsty Young's castaway this week is the musician Lady Natasha Spender. She was born at the end of the First World War and has spent her life immersed in the arts. Gifted with perfect pitch, she studied under Clifford Curzon and enjoyed a highly successful career as a concert pianist. In the months after the end of the Second World War she gave a concert at Belsen to inmates who were recovering in its hospital wing and, a couple of years later, she was chosen to be the soloist in the world's first ever televised concert for the BBC. She was also one half of a cultural 'it' couple - for more than 50 years she was married to the poet Sir Stephen Spender. They had met at a literary lunch he was hosting and became friends after Natasha stayed behind to help him with the washing up. They were friends with many of the greats of the past century, including T S Eliot, Stravinsky and Leonard Bernstein. She is now the executor to Sir Stephen's very considerable estate and is writing her own memoirs. [Taken from the original programme material for this archive edition of Desert Island Discs] Favourite track: 1st movement of String Quintet in G Minor by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Book: Desert Islands: An Anthology by Walter de la Mare Luxury: Her grand piano. 13. PREMIERE : Huerta - Am Ende

PREMIERE : Huerta - Am Ende

Los Angeles-born, Berlin-based talent Huerta unleashes four remarkably rich cuts for Three Fingerz Musique's latest 12". This follows an outstanding run of releases on Dirt Crew, Amadeus and Let's Play House. 3FM004 is an innovatively crafted 4-track EP set to be an excellent summer soundtrack. The A side features two stunning compositions. "No Business Here" opens the EP with its 4/4 signature shuffled percussion, jazzy bass line and tantalizing piano licks. "Shed light" explores Huerta's melodic, gloomy side with more relaxed vibes, a tune that will make you travel into your deepest thoughts. On the flip side you'll find two irresistible productions. One of our personal bests is B1 track "Am Ende", a magical tune marked by its unique breaky rhythm complemented by rolling synth tones and a round chugging bass line: an instant classic. Closing the EP we have "Some Rig", a bumping low-end combines with crunchy, whipping hi hats to make this one perhaps the most club ready of the release. "Am Ende EP" is surely one of our best outputs to date, filled with character, its pushes forward fresh takes on classic conventions, and serves as a perfect marker of our vision.

Sunju Hargun & Forrest - Time Bomb

Rising Montreal producer @Forrestmusic teams up with Thailand’s @SunjuHargun on this 4-track tech-house workout. Having racked up releases on 2020Vision, Mobilee, Visionquest, Defected, Vakant, VIVa, and Souvenir to name just a few, Forrest has had a very prolific few years. He’s also just launched Amadeus records, and will have his debut album out in 2015. Impressed yet? Teaming up with Bangkok’s Sunju Hargun sees Forrest at his most club oriented, crafting four expertly produced tech-house tracks perfect for late-night sets at super-clubs the world over. 15. Joyce Muniz at Hive (Live Recorded 31.07.2014)

Joyce Muniz at Hive (Live Recorded 31.07.2014)

Born in 1983 in Sao Paulo, Joyce Muniz arrived in Vienna during the mid nineties and was soon introduced to the vibrant Viennese electronic music scene. Short after her first DJ gig at the tender age of 16, she began collaborating as a vocalist with Markus Dohelsky aka Shanti Roots (Vienna Scientists) and I-Wolf (Sofa Surfers/Klein Records). In 2006, Muniz teamed up with Stereotyp and created the first Funk Mundial 12” “Uepa/Jece Valadao” (Man Recordings) and Ku bo Ep 1 and 2. In 2007, she and Shanti Roots started producing under the name of Monte Laa Prod and released their first 12”. In 2008 she contributed her vocals to the Cusmos (Herwig Kusatz ad Karl Möestls) track “Garoto,” which is was released on the Kruder & Dorfmeister label G-stone. Joyce Muniz also did some collaboration with Flore, Buscemi and Skero. Her first solo release "Party Over Here" debuted November 2010 on Shir Khan's well known label Exploited and received massive DJ support throughout Europe. DJ Mag has hailed it "the electro single of the month". Joyce Muniz second release “Bedstories” was heavy pumping big-boned party house with some serious momentum reminiscent of Mr.G, Cosmin TRGs rework went somewhere far more abstract and intriguing with an Actress-alike Detroit/South London swingjackers’s mix, while Mr. Ho gave it the filtered disco-house treatment for fans of Toby Tobias or Wbeeza. Joyce Muniz is featured as a singer on the current Munk Album “The Beat and the Bird” out on Gomma, remixed the classic house anthem “Lovely Daee” by Blaze out on Defected and just scored No.4 in the Deephouse Beatport-Charts with her “Malicia”-Single. “Pulp Fiction” is her 3rd release on the Berlin label Exploited. With “Pulp Fiction” Joyce shows the variety of her production and music taste. For Example: Louie Austen meets Joyce Muniz: a definite must hear. The perfect mix between Sinatra, Barry White and Leonard Cohen on Joyce’s melodic house steroids. In “New in Town” Joyce teams up with Sketch who was already featured on her Top4 Deephouse-Beatport-single “Malicia”. “Pray for Peace” is pure tropical future afro house while “Back Down” is jacking house in the sense of Sneak but with those melancholic Julio Bashmore moments. “Messing With My Mind“ Ep (part 1 and part 2) were released to the top of the Beatport charts in March and June 2012. It features a Joyce Muniz exclusive remix of the Amp Fiddler track “When the Morning Comes“. In addition to her DJing and production work, Joyce earned an Amadeus (Austrian equivalent to a Grammy) for her vocal work with Austrian rapper Skero on the hit single "Kabininparty", which won the "Best Song of the Year" award, as well as 2 other nominations. Furthermore, Joyce Muniz released the Ep“Droppin’ Pressure“ on legendary UK House Label 20/20 Vision. Since Joyce Muniz’s “Trust Your Enemies” Single came out in March (her 4th release on Exploited) – she’s remixed Maya Jane Coles’ “Burning Bright feat. Kim Ann Foxman”, Tosca’s “Ende Mai”, Claptone’s “Maximum”, Blaze’s “Lovely Dae”, Stereo MC’s “Sunny Day”, Munk’s “Mis Labios”, Robert Owens & Jet Project’s “Say The Word”, Amp Fiddler’s “When The Morning Comes” among others and her cuts have been snapped up for numerous DJ mixes and best-of-summer comps. Joyce has also produced the entire album “What A Comeback!” of Europe’s one and only crooner Louie Austen. Now Brazilian-raised, Vienna-based producer returns on Exploited with her tightest, deepest house yet: “Please Break My Heart feat. Dave”. The original version has a more pop-orientated vibe while the Deep Underground Mix is for all the Headz & real Discjocks out there. Lately, Richie Hawtin featured a new tune of hers in his Boiler Room Set: A collaboration of rapper Baby Bam from legendary Hip Hop Group The Jungle Brothers. Stay tuned for more info.

16. THE DELTA ROUTINE - New York Avenue

THE DELTA ROUTINE - New York Avenue

From The Delta Routine's third full-length studio album "Cigarettes & Caffeine Nightmares." The Delta Routine serve up eleven tracks with full-realized hooks and maximum swagger, that are as gritty as they are sexy. I suggest that The Black Keys should watch their backs if these guys ever get into the music licensing game, because these fuzzy, guitar-centric ditties are poised and ready for primetime. – GHETTOBLASTER MAGAZINE “Milwaukee’s Delta Routine can rock the blues and deliver grade-A hooks just as well as any of its contemporaries. It’s no wonder they’ve been receiving plenty of accolades in their hometown” – MAGNET MAGAZINE “The Delta Routine’s new full-length, Cigarettes and Caffeine Nightmares, is exemplary rock ’n’ roll with overtones of Mott the Hoople and The Rolling Stones circa “Downtown Suzie.” This is a band in control, and all the more rocking for it.” – Edd Hurt / NASHVILLE SCENE “On its third full-length album, Cigarettes & Caffeine Nightmares, Milwaukee’s The Delta Routine once again assume the tired-and-true rock stance by mining the classic, guitar-driven treasures of the past. Singer-songwriter Nick Amadeus injects a bluesy swagger into the proceedings, while his band does its best to summon up the hard-living, pre-gentrified ghosts of a mid-’70s CBGB. The good news is that they pull it off—the album is a big step up from 2011’s More About You.” – Matt Wild / THE ONION’S A.V. CLUB “The Delta Routine ups the ante on their new full-length Cigarettes & Caffeine Nightmares, an album that finds the band hitting their stride like never before.” – Joshua Miller / SHEPHERD EXPRESS "I won't waste your time now," Delta Routine frontman Nick Amadeus sings with his Liam Gallagher-esque vocals on the opening track. He's true to his word. At 32 minutes, the album is mercifully low on fat but thrills all the same with warped organ and guitar reverb snarls on "Switchblade." Likewise, "Around Your Neck" does its bluesy, White Stripes-like, swagger-soaked thing in less than two minutes' time.” - Piet Levy / JOURNAL SENTINEL “ The Delta Routine’s latest album, ‘Cigarettes and Caffeine Nightmares’, offers up songs that are filled with infectious hooks and strong melodies.” - CW’S PLACE “Harsh, cathartic boogie marinated in loose, blues-rock grooves and swamp-water bop.” - John Noyd / MAXIMUM INK “The Delta Routine’s new single "Switchblade,” from their new album Cigarettes and Caffeine Nightmares sounds like early Oasis, but with a definite Midwest vibe.” - 88NINE RADIO MILWAUKEE “Down-and-dirty barroom blues/rock.” - WHEN YOU MOTOR AWAY “If you love a mixture of 60s rock ‘n’ roll, angsty punk and modern day indie, then The Delta Routine’s Cigarettes & Caffeine Nightmares is definitely an album you’ll love.” – SHOW ME SOMETHING DIFFERENT: UK “Think late ‘60s, ‘70s rock ‘n’ roll (Bolan and Stones)… Cigarettes & Caffeine Nightmares is worth adding to your collection” – MUSIC EYES: UK “The Delta Routine continue to maintain their fun, distinctive sound while supplying us with fresh new hits to dance to on their third full-length record, Cigarettes and Caffeine. – LOCAL PLAYLIST “A great band. I love then a lot.” - FROM THE BURRO “The Delta Routine’s third album, “Cigarettes and Caffeine Nightmares,” is a collection of hook heavy, hard charging anthems. I’m betting you’ll dig it.” - BERKELEY PLACE BLOG “Nods appreciatively at the likes of The Rolling Stones, Oasis and The Strokes whilst ensuring they don't just sound like copycats.” – PLUG IN MUSIC “Clocking in at 35 minutes, The Delta Routine’s “Cigarettes and Caffeine Nightmares” is a kick in the pants of blues rock, garage rock, power pop, and America. Brash and irresistibly fun. You don't want to sleep on this album. The Delta Routine is here to stay. Hopefully it's only a matter of time before they get the appreciation and following they so richly deserve.” - ADOBE & TEARDROPS “Milwaukee’s The Delta Routine’s Cigarettes & Caffeine Nightmares teaches us that you don’t need to go down south to find beer-soaked, bendy guitars and a raspy twang like Nick Amadeus’, with some organ thrown in for good measure. We all need some mischief in our lives sometimes, and Cigarettes & Caffeine Nightmares is the perfect soundtrack for those occasions.” - PLAYGROUND MISNOMER

Teaming up with Bangkok’s Sunju Hargun sees Forrest at his most club oriented, crafting four expertly produced tech-house tracks perfect for late-night sets at super-clubs the world over. No vocals this time around, with melodies subdued, this EP is straight to the point, stripped to the basics - potent. www.mixmag.asia www.turborecordings.com https://www.facebook.com/turborecordings https://soundcloud.com/turborecordings https://www.facebook.com/forrestmusic https://soundcloud.com/forrestmusic https://www.facebook.com/sunjuhargun.official https://soundcloud.com/sunjuhargun
