RF009 : RAFH & re_Click - Unleash The Kraken (Rennie Foster's VanCity Remix)

Buy Links: Selected Remixes Two on Beatport Second pack of remixes from Rennie Foster's vault. Starting off with the soulful electronics of "Everything Needs To Be Clear" by Erell Ranson. originally appearing on clear vinyl from aDepth audio.. Rennie then turns Paul Mac's vocal driven DJ cut "Raw Basics 3" into a relentless, jackin' house track. Nagano City's local techno crew, Human Race Nation, track "Haze" also provides the basic ingredients for Rennie's mass expanded rework, adding elements of Japanese sounds and rolling, tribal percussion. Released just last year on Vancouver label, Subspec,, "Unleash The Kraken" is a highly playable, techno monster, with Rennie's signature production and arrangement. Finally, "Alia" is an uptempo, tribal techno rework, originally by Gerald Mitchell of Los Hermanos and DJ 3000, originally released on limited, white label vinyl, through Detroit label, Motech. Solid pack of remixes, get em. Delivered by Label Worx on behalf of RF

RAFH & re_Click - Unleash The Kraken (Original Mix)[Subspec Music]

RAFH & re_Click's debut single 'Unleash The Kraken' sees the Victoria, BC trio deliver thoroughly modern, slow-build big room Techno. Straight ahead tension and release is the order. The original is backed up by remixes from Rennie Foster, John Massey, and Jay Zoney. Each remix explores a different aspect of the original. Rennie Foster takes the original to its basic groove and settles into the spaces within it. John Massey applies his signature bass-heavy flow in his reduction of the original. Jay Zoney takes his mix in the direction of the monstrous... massive distorted rhythms underpin the calls of the Kraken.

RAFH & re_Click - Unleash the Kraken

Release Date: Feb. 19, 2013 Subspec launches into a new year with a bold new compilation featuring various members of our extended family. Faces familiar and new deliver the grooves across 20 varied tracks that generally fit under the umbrella of Techno. This isn't about a stylistically monotone single image for our label, but rather providing music that is both of the moment and aware of and honoring the roots we developed from. Most of the tracks are squarely aimed at groove-oriented dancefloor Techno with an experimental undercurrent from artists like The Automatic Message, Jerry Abstract, and Fabrics. RAFH & re_Click, John Massey, and Jay Zoney bring some peak hour fire. Complicit, Sone, JGarrett, and Rubidium provide the solid connective glue that helps tell a story within a set. We get dubby with Danzai, Cyanwave, and Milkplant; minimal with Terrence Dixon and Countered. Somatic Responses and Zyxt tip their hat to classic sounds of the early IDM scene. Kafka and Keef Baker's OCDC glam things up on our way to close out with Raab Codec's glitchy ambience. "Specification" doesn't represent a roadmap, but rather a vista populated by a variety of artists whose work we enjoy. It's a moment in a transition and our report for the beginning of 2013!
