Flying Lotus feat. Andreya Triana - Tea Leaf Dancers

Touching down in New York for our 15th anniversary, the Red Bull Music Academy is a world-travelling series of music lectures, workshops and events: a platform for those who make a difference in today's musical landscape. Each year we invite 60 of the most extraordinary music makers from across the globe for a month of workshops, studio and live gig madness, working shoulder to shoulder with some of the most influential figures in contemporary music. We are proud to count the likes of Flying Lotus, Hudson Mohawke, Jesse Boykins III, Aloe Blacc and Nina Kraviz among our alumni, and we can't wait to hear what magic comes out of the studio jams from the Class of 2013! 4. Branko - Eventually (feat. Alex Rita & Bison)

Branko - Eventually (feat. Alex Rita & Bison)

The creative mind behind both @burakasomsistema and the Enchufada label, @brankoofficial, has been called "the Anthony Bourdain of ghetto dance music". He hand-picks the tastiest ingredients from around the globe and cooks them up for a global audience of dancefloor gourmands. 2015 will see the Red Bull Music Academy alum release his debut solo album, 'Atlas', which he recorded in five different Red Bull Studios around the globe. This shimmery, slow-burning, post-funky monster - recorded at Red Bull Studios Copenhagen with Danish singer Alex Rita of the band @okapii - gives but a glimpse of the genre-bending, guest-heavy madness we can expect. Stream Branko's latest mix of unreleased tropical bangers below and watch out for the 'Atlas Unfolded' docu series to drop soon. http://www.rbmaradio.com/shows/branko-hard-ass-sessions-tokyo-edition The track is 6/20 of the Red Bull 20 Before 15 series - 20 days, 20 exclusive tracks to take you into 2015. 5. TOKiMONSTA + Iza – Pinching

TOKiMONSTA + Iza – Pinching

LA-based producer @tokimonsta is never one to settle. After graduating from the Red Bull Music Academy in 2010, she linked up with both Brainfeeder and the Ultra conglomerate, only to jump-start her very own Young Art imprint in 2014. She’s worked with everyone from Kool Keith and Kelly Rowland – and now she’s paired her signature bold beats with the effortless melodies of acclaimed Polish singer, songwriter and producer @izalach. Two musicians who aren’t about the frills, just sheer talent. You can read more about their collaboration in the Red Bull Studios LA here: http://www.redbullstudios.com/losangeles/articles/tokimonsta-and-iza-are-here-to-stay The track is 1/20 of the Red Bull 20 Before 15 series – 20 days, 20 exclusive tracks to take you into 2015. 6. Danny Brown - BAB (The Titts Bootleg)

Danny Brown - BAB (The Titts Bootleg)

Don’t let the name troll you. Dutch duo The Titts – comprised of RBMA grad Jameszoo and Eindhoven’s Y’skid Beats – deliver a dead serious bootleg version of Danny Brown’s 2011 smoker’s anthem, “Blunt After Blunt.” A vindictive quality shines through on each of the track’s elements – from the opening wood blocks to the skittering synths, on to the ominous siren break and the hook’s voracious low-end. Summoning maximalist effect through minimalist measures, the two producers conjure up a potent DJ weapon, which has already been endorsed by the likes of Gaslamp Killer, DJ Shadow, Machinedrum and Salva.

7. Ginger & The Ghost - One Type of Dark (Ta-ku Remix)

Ginger & The Ghost - One Type of Dark (Ta-ku Remix)

Taking on the otherworldly debut single from up-and-coming Sydney duo Ginger & The Ghost is Academy grad and hard-working beat maestro Ta-ku. Staying with the half-eerie, half-triumphant air of the original, but adding some serious bite with his signature drum assault, Ta-ku leaves his mark on the ominous cut. Dark, light, the real and the imaginary intertwine as two of Australia's most promising artists collide for this RBMA exclusive. www.redbullmusicacademy.com Ginger & The Ghost Ta-ku

8. Gangsta Boo & Sinjin Hawke - Yea Hoe

Gangsta Boo & Sinjin Hawke - Yea Hoe

Three 6 Mafia founding member Gangsta Boo and Barcelona-based RBMA grad Sinjin Hawke team up for the likely / unlikely collaboration "Yea Hoe." The track succeeds in translating the bare-boned Memphis sound into a club-ready hi-fi hurrah. Built on gloomy vocal wails and big brass, the track is paced with discipline, exploding into a spectacular slice of low-slung orchestral crunk, before giving anyone a chance to take their elbows back down. Mixed by Chris Tabron at Red Bull Studios. Premiere: Gangsta Boo & Sinjin Hawke - Yea Hoe

10. Dâm-Funk - No More Love

Dâm-Funk - No More Love

'Various Assets - Not For Sale 2013' is a collection of some of the music that was made during the Red Bull Music Academy during four early summer weeks in New York City last year. The double CD contains 30 tracks composed, improvised and discovered by the 62 international participants and a cast of high-profile studio team members, who all got their fingers dirty on synths, Mellotrons, vibraphones, drum machines and anything else they could lay their hands on. Enjoy! Known as Los Angeles' "Ambassador of Boogie Funk," Damon Riddick represents the citizens of the Funkmosphere to the fullest. Anyone who grooves to the likes of Slave, Aurra, early Prince and Prelude Records, will knoe what to do when they hear "No More Love." Written by Damon Riddick (US). Produced by Dâm-Funk. 'Various Assets - Not For Sale 2013' is available for free download from January 15th, 2014 via RBMA Bandcamp and Soundcloud.

11. Hyroglifics feat. Foreign Beggars - Persuade

Hyroglifics feat. Foreign Beggars - Persuade

In advance of his attendance as a participant at the 2016 Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal, rising UK producer Hyroglifics has prepared the ‘All Talk’ EP for release in September via London’s drum & bass purveyors Critical Music. That title might under-promise, but on tracks like “Persuade,” debuted here, Hyroglifics certainly delivers. Featuring verses from long-running British rap crew Foreign Beggars, “Persuade” eschews Hyroglifics junglist tendencies in favor of more linear hip-hop. Following a mellow intro, it explodes with energy off the back of vocals that are paranoid, partially uplifting, and certainly boastful (“This is what you want / let me show you what you need”). There are shadowy slips of sound tucked throughout, with woodblock rhythms knocking at the door of otherwise fragile, glassy details that compete with the verses for attention. It’s not jungle, and it’s not drum & bass, and maybe it’s not really hip-hop, either - it’s just Hyroglifics. Hyroglifics’ ‘All Talk’ EP is out September 16th on Critical Music. 12. William Basinski - For David Robert Jones [LAndscape Premiere]

William Basinski - For David Robert Jones [LAndscape Premiere]

None may be better suited to crafting eulogies than William Basinski. The composer who graced us with the melancholy masterpiece Disintegration Loops now turns his gaze to David Bowie. Today marks the one year anniversary of Bowie's passing and so we humbly premiere Basinski's tribute 'For David Robert Jones.' This hymn for the music hero will be released January 20th on Temporary Residence Ltd. Keep your ears on RBMA Radio because Los Angeles resident Basinski will soon appear as a guest on Frosty's weekly LAndscape program. @william-basinski @temporary-residence-ltd-1 rbmaradio.com/shows/landscape redbullmusicacademy.com

13. Dorian Concept - Empty Everything (But You)

Dorian Concept - Empty Everything (But You)

One of the nicest human beings on the planet, @dorian-concept is also certified nice with the production work. The 2008 RBMA graduate and two-time studio team member has stepped out of the spotlight for a minute following his visionary 2009 LP on Kindred Spirits, focussing more on the background of matters. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the piece he offers us as part of @mamikomotto's upcoming Amada compilation serves as a testament to Oliver's inclination to understatement - a delicate, brief-but-patient arrangement of metallic clanking, warped vocal shards and hints of synth-dexterity. "Empty Everything (But You)" is taken from Amada - a compilation album assembled by Mamiko Motto and @allcitydublin, which also features exclusive tracks by Obey City, Georgia Anne Muldrow, James Pants, Darq E Freaker, Claude Speeed and many more. The album is out digitally on November 8th. http://mamikomotto.com http://allcityrecordlabel.com/releases/amada-compilation-acc1xlp http://redbullmusicacademy.com

Alix Perez - Tempest [The Vortex Premiere]

"Tempest" is from Alix Perez's Ghosts EP, out September 30 on his 1985 Music label. Premiered by Vivian Host (aka Star Eyes) on her weekly RBMA Radio show The Vortex (Wednesdays, 1P-3P EDT), "Tempest" is a beehive of synthetic activity that breaks into a future bass bomb propelled by off-kilter knocks and killer mentasms. 15. Electric Wire Hustle - Look In The Sky

Electric Wire Hustle - Look In The Sky

As RBMA grads @mara-tk and Taay Ninh are gearing up for the release of their second full-length as @electricwirehustle (their first in the current tandem constellation), we are happy to present a brand new cut from it. Clocking in just under 4 minutes, "Look In The Sky" is essentially a two-faced affair. The slow-burning, wail-streaked first part claims "happiness is coming our way," before the song switches to themes of struggle just before the halfway point. Comparisons to Curtis Mayfield and Marvin Gaye are impossible to circumnavigate - a high compliment if there ever was one. The Love Can Prevail LP is out September 8th on @okayplayer and @somethinksounds. http://electricwirehustle.com http://okayplayer.com http://somethinksounds.com http://redbullmusicacademy.com

18. Electric Wire Hustle - Bottom Line (Flako Remix)

Electric Wire Hustle - Bottom Line (Flako Remix)

One of New Zealand's most in-demand exports, modern soul outfit @electricwirehustle are set to make their triumphant return to your local "New Releases" crate. Following up on their acclaimed 2010 debut, their new album Love Can Prevail will see the light of day via @okayplayer and @somethinksounds on September 8th. Shortening the wait and providing a preview of what is to come, the If These Are The Last Days EP features two stellar album cuts, along with @eliphino and RBMA grad @flako on remix duties. We are happy to premiere the latter's rework of "Bottom Line," which finds the London resident in fine form, swapping in pensively glacial key sounds for the original's resolute piano. http://electricwirehustle.com http://okayplayer.com http://somethinksounds.com http://redbullmusicacademy.com

19. Throwing Snow feat. Adda Kaleh - The Tempest VIP

Throwing Snow feat. Adda Kaleh - The Tempest VIP

Given the enormously productive period that @throwingsnow launched into upon graduating from the Red Bull Music Academy in 2013, we're extra thrilled to welcome him back to a string of international RBMA stages this summer. But before the London-based producer plays @theparklifeweekender on June 7 and @sonarfestival on June 13, this special VIP edit brings a slightly different side of the alum to the forefront than what can be heard on his outstanding Mosaic LP. Straying from the original's arresting gloom, "The Tempest VIP" comes with a dancefloor-ready house knock. Fellow Academy graduate Adda Kaleh's vocals (@ama-diver) retain their solemn semblance, but in combination with the deep, determined 4x4 rhythm, it conjures up an all new kind of despairing euphoria. http://houndstoothlabel.com http://redbullmusicacademy.com BUY THE MOSAIC VIPS HERE: http://smarturl.it/MosaicVIPs12
