Mind Write (ft Logan P. McCoy) DEMO

Late last year we started work on the next Shankfist Wreckage Technique single with Logan P. McCoy. However, due to an exploding PC, a deejay losing his 'proper' job, a flood and our record company getting closed down by New Order's lawyers its release has been temporarily thwarted. With no current end in sight to our multiple problems I've decided to release the unfinished demo for your aural pleasure. Shankfist will return. Someday. Possibly.

Church and State (feat. Logan P. McCoy)

AVAILABLE ON ITUNES/ BANDCAMP MONDAY 28TH MAY “I paint the analytical plot of political masterminds...” For their third release SHANKFIST WRECKAGE TECHNIQUE have teamed up with New York rapper Logan P. McCoy. Church & State is an evolution of their previous release Preacher, the laid back West Coast bass and widescreen strings replaced by an altogether more ominous soundscape, a post-apocalyptic soundclash of melody and dissonance that prompted DJ FORMAT to comment “yeah, that's pretty heavy..sounds like some nice left-field Def-Jux stuff!” Whereas musically, Church & State invokes a bleak dystopia, lyrically it sets its sights on higher planes of consciousness. Logan P.McCoy’s lyrically wordplay is so dense with ideas, it contains more thought than most contemporary rappers’ entire discographies. A single listen doesn’t give the opportunity to pick apart the multitude of complex lyrical observations. On his inspiration for the song Logan reflects “this piece is the result of a personal realization of a universal truth that has been echoed all through time. Paraphrasing Gandhi's words, I'm learning that being the change I want to see in the world is the best way to materialize such change.” “Church & State is a reminder that "they" have all the power because I give it to "them" leaving myself powerless to do anything. Once I realized that, I can affect change buy assuming responsibility, I've felt more empowered and hopeful. This is a reminder to stop pointing the finger at "them" because "they" are really me. Continuing the SHANKFIST WRECKAGE TECHNIQUE tradition of top drawer remixes, the release features thundering bass heavy remixes from DYNASTY and ALIEN HAND. The mutually productive relationship with bassheads DYNASTY has garnered enthusiastic support of FLEX FM stalwarts REDLINE & FEEDBACK and Radio One airplay from HUW STEPHENS. ALEN HAND appears courtesy of the delightful Digital Vomit collective, his remix giving us the only audio insight into what might be occurring inside Joey Barton’s mind. “To own the tree one must control the seed” WRITTEN BY COOKE/ FINNEY/ MC.COY/ HILL

Preacher (Alien Hand Remix)

“This is ace” – Huw Stephens, Radio 1 The Dynasty remix of “Wilf Daddy” the debut single from Shankfist Wreckage Technique gained heavy support from Redline & Feedback on underground station Flex FM before finding its way onto Huw Stephens’ show on Radio 1. The momentum continues with “Preacher” the latest slab of dirty phunk from the oddly named outfit. A spooky piano, a rude bassline, a filthy break and a positively obscene string section combine on this soundtrack for mass uprisings. Like Che Guevara and Sly Stone produced by The Bomb Squad. Gaining a reputation for top drawer remixes from upcoming underground talents, “Preacher” comes armed with a slew of genre smashing remixes, headed by another epic remix from the massively in demand Dynasty. http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/preacher-ep/id466952074

The Wilf Daddy (Meep Remix)

THE WILF DADDY is a laid back slab of instrumental hip-hop, a dirty little ditty that channels Roy Budd via Dr Dre. SHANKFIST have carved themselves a niche in the electronica-trip-hip-brokenbeat-downtempo-hop (whatever they’re calling it now) scene, comfortably standing shoulder to shoulder with DJ Shadow, RJD2, Unkle, Automator et al. It is released worldwide by El Perro Rojo Records on iTunes and limited edition CD BOX with custom artwork. The single is backed with a full array of exemplary remixes from Solypsis, Meep, Dynasty, Doubtlex and DJ Bert. Each mix highlights an aspect of the song and reinterprets it in a radically different style. http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/the-wilf-daddy/id432397772
