Tact Recordings is the collective of producers / DJs hailing from London, Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds.
In taking inspiration from labels like Harmonie Park, Dial Records, ~Scape and Rush Hour, as well as stirring in its own individual flavours, Tact Recordings was created as a platform for releasing emotional and vibe-inducing music of the labels approach.
With a steady stream of EPs and digital releases each year, drawing on both the talents of up and coming producers as well as those artists who serve as inspiration.
So, with that, we continue our series highlighting some of our favourite labels from around the world, so we thought we would catch up with Tact Recordings, Yard One to get the scoop on all things Tact.
The town of Humbolt sat promptly and oddly amidst the snow caked hills. It was perched at a distinctively bizarre angle beneath the quarry. From time to time rocks would cascade and tumble down through the fields, each seemed to land closer to Humbolt than the last. The bright coloured houses looked as though they had been plonked in place from the very heavens up above, but that was Humbolt, a bit odd. That was Humbolt, a bit strange.
Adventures In Daydreams are an upcoming duo based in Berlin, their latest EP titled 'Travel' has been supported by the likes of Roman Flugel, John Digweed and more.
This was to be the first time that laboratory would be open to the public and the outside world. The walls were glimmering a pristine white tint whilst the greenery of the plant life which lurked behind the glass windows acted as a stark yet beautiful contrast to the clinicality of the environment. "001.1" had been a long time in the planning, it was important for a company as rogue and vagabond as theirs to at least pretend that those from the outside world were welcome within their sphere of chaos...
Nacieae appears on a new EP set for release on Tact Recordings. The imprint has moved from strength to strength across the last six years, this time they turn their focus towards the abstract elements of dub.
Rising UK duo Yard One share a dynamite exclusive via WWD today. "Malvern Groove" is an intricate electronic delight, which features on their new Memory Echoes EP. Already receiving much acclaim from the likes of XLR8R and Mr. John Digweed, the pair are certainly set for a big year! Their latest release is very much a fresh blend all moulded together with astute sound selection and tight production.
The ‘Memory Echoes’ EP‘ provides a quality little taster ahead of When Elements Collide’, the forthcoming L.P from the duo. The release date is set for April 27th on Tact Recordings.

Enhua had been far from home for a long time now. She missed her friends from the tiny village by the sea but it had been time for her to leave. Little had made as much sense to her in her life but this. She must travel far through this land to find where she belonged. Her family were good people by the coastal town and they always would be, but she felt a connection to something which called to her from beyond those surroundings. It was primal, a reason to search, a reason to find the root of her very being.
The latest record from tact Recordings has been receiving a solid stream of support from the likes of Gerd, Mr Ties, Efdemin and Missimiliano Pagliara. Here is the remix of Yard One's 'Enhua' from Roger Van Lunteren.

Tact Recordings’ first release of 2018 drops in March courtesy of Nacieae, accompanied by a pair of astounding remixes from label bosses Yard One and fletcher. Tact Recordings has established itself as a label known for pushing consistently quality productions across bo th digital and physical formats since it’s inception in 2011.
Fletcher, brings his remix of 001.1’, a groovy after hours track while maintaining the delicate and mellow qualities of the original piece. The precision of the drums arrangement is carefully curated by Fletcher creating an atmospheric and groovy sense. The background sound selection is out of this world, design to alter your state of mind with an eerie and supernatural sound.
Fletcher, demonstrates how comfortable he is using white noise in his production, not only as background filler but as an instrument of its own. Not to many producers can get away with such technique, and for that…Kudos Fletcher.
early support from Traumer, Cinthie, Machine Woman, Saphire Slows...
Nacieae ‘001.1’ is out on Tact Recordings on 16th March 2018 so be sure to get your hands on this release.

Following the launch of the vinyl only sub-label Tactics, Tact Recordings co-founders Yard One return to the main label with the ‘Waves Of Fog’ EP, featuring a remix from Sounds Of Vast’s Red Pig Flower.
Production duo Yard One have been steadily developing their sound over the past few years, since dropping their debut album in 2015 the pair have since gone on to release original material and remixes on Unclear, Twirl, Diffuse Reality and of course their own Tactics and Tact Recordings where they return to here.
‘Beyond The Fog’ leads on the package with shuffled percussion, airy pad swells and bubbling dub echoes all dynamically evolving and unfolding across the composition’s eight minute duration. ‘Soft Blue Waves’ follows, diving deeper into the realms of murky dub techno with sweeping atmospherics noises, water drop like synth flutters and ethereal pads ebbing and flowing amongst an amalgamation of muted kicks, popping percussion and rounded subs.
Sound Of Vast co-founder Red Pig Flower then shapes up the package with her bumpy interpretation of ‘Soft Blue Waves’, employing organic percussion, swinging hats and a snaking bass groove as the foundation whilst stirring in snippets of the originals hypnotic synth elements.
Yard One’s ‘Waves Of Fog’ EP is out on Tact Recordings 13th July 2018.
