1. Paul Kalkbrenner: Back To The Future - Part 1

Paul Kalkbrenner: Back To The Future - Part 1

BACK TO THE FUTURE is going on Tour.  I am going to recreate the parties of the early nineties that I never could attend, from the flyers to the imagery on location to the chill-out area.  All in intimate venues, for a exclusive live experience of the sound of my mixtape trilogy and beyond.  See all dates and purchase tickets at www.pkbacktothefuture.com --- Free HQ download here: http://bit.ly/BTTF1_hq Free mp3 download here: http://bit.ly/BTTF1_mp3 Over Christmas 2014 I needed a break from recording my album, searching online for a song I recalled from my youth, I fell into a rabbit hole of thousands of YouTube playlists and posts, rediscovering the songs my friends and I would gather and listen to as 13 & 14 yr olds every Saturday in East Berlin on Radio DT64 (now Berlin's Radio Fritz). I stumbled back to the future, collecting over 5000 songs on YouTube, learning for the first time the artists behind the songs we heard almost 25 years ago. The forthcoming trilogy is the result of 18 month of building edits from YouTube recordings and stitching them together off-line. I could not include every song, nor indeed even the entire tracks from this small period until 1993, so this is my personal history of electronic music arriving in Berlin. This trilogy will not be sold, it was a labor of love, born of nostalgia and made for sharing. Paul Tracklisting The Source Experience - The Source Experience (R&S, Belgium, 1993) 280 West - Scattered Dreams (Kaleidoscope, US, 1992) Quadrophonia - Warp Factor One (ARS Productions, Belgium, 1993) Nelson FFWD Cruz - My House (Minimal, US, 1989) Frequency - Hey, Hey, Hey (Lower East Side, Netherlands, 1990) DHS - House of God (Hangman, US, 1990) Acid Jesus - Fairchild (Klang Elektronik, Germany, 1993) Master Techno - Red Religion (S.T.D., Belgium , 1992) AUX 88 - Technology (Direct Beat, US, 1993) 2 for Joy - Manic Joy (Noise, UK, 1990) Chestnut - Pot of Gold (Natural, Netherlands, 1992) LFO - LFO (Warp, UK, 1990) Todd Terry - House is a Feeling (Freeze, US, 1991) Fingers INC. - I’m strong (R&S, Belgium, 1990) 808 State - Pacific State (ZTT, UK, 1989) H&M - 88 (Axis, US, 1992) Brain Pilot - C.N.S. 8. Sartek - Back To The Future [GURU021]

Sartek - Back To The Future [GURU021]

GURU021 - Sartek - 'Back To The Future' is out on Beatport now! http://bit.ly/GURU021-bp • Subscribe to GURU on YouTube: bit.ly/GURU-YTsub • Subscribe to GURU on Spotify here: bit.ly/GURU-spotify Fast rising Indian producer Sartek is at it once again, dropping another huge club bomb for Gregori Klosman’s Guru. The imprint has been a staunch admirer of the New Delhi native during the early stages of his career and it’s already not hard to see why. Every time this man gets behind the mixing desk the fires are fuelled and a jet-pack explosion of modern house music powers through the speakers. Like his last effort on Guru, “Dopamine” Sartek finds the perfect balance between the intense and the melodic with “Back to the Future.” After floating, jangling piano keys and emotive synths initiate the track in almost laidback surroundings, all of a sudden ferocious basslines and kicking drums jolt in and attack the central nervous system. But before it hammers you into submission, the track breaks down and then opens up into airy melodies and what turns out to be, a false sense of calm. Before you know it, the throttle is pulled and we are right back into full swing. Devastating stuff! 18. Nero & Skrillex - Promises (NICKYP Back To The Future Bootleg)

Nero & Skrillex - Promises (NICKYP Back To The Future Bootleg)

Since kicking off his career in 2010, New York’s NICKYP has shown quite a bit of guts, turning some of the biggest dance floor anthems into his own, unique tastemakers. He added peak-time glory to sounds by the likes of Tiësto & The Chainsmokers, Paris & Simo, Afrojack & Hardwell, Fedde le Grand and more, taking them to dance floors all across the US. This time, it’s the 2011 tune of ‘Promises’, one of the highlight tracks of NERO & Skrillex, that’s taken a NICKYP treatment. And you bet, he’s done it again. A futuristic banger, blending electro, future, bass and tech house in one, dirty drop, it’s the grimy bass that makes NICKYP’s Back To The Future Bootleg a perfect soundtrack to all ravers. A salute to the end of summer, getting us all hyped for the dark nights of endless clubbing ahead. Future awaits us with a mighty fine groove, created by NICKYP.
