My name is Leo I-Kai Chen, a first-year student at UCSD. For my interview, I interviewed Young Hsu, a fourth-year student at UCSD from Chiayi, Taiwan. Young was also one of the two students out his high school class to apply to international universities. During our interview, we touched on the impact of the American culture in his life, his ties to home, and the broad picture of international students migrating abroad. The overall purpose of the interview was to see how Young, as a person who lived a life completely immersed in Taiwanese culture, managed to adapt to his new life here in San Diego. And from the podcast, one will understand how Young was able to overcome the inevitable cultural struggles that come with migration through his unique perspective on life and his differing approach.
