Elwood's Radio Teaser: Lonnie Brooks Retrospective

Chicago blues great Lonnie Brooks passed away, aged 83, on April 1, 2017. Elwood pays tribute, beginning with Lonnie’s appearance with him (and Junior Wells) in BLUES BROTHERS 2000. Some excellent audio clips of Lonnie Brooks from the Bluesmobile interview archive will be played, along with reminiscences from his talented sons, Ronnie Baker Brooks, and Wayne Baker Brooks. And, of course, Lonnie’s music will air, running the gamut from Chicago blues, Louisiana swamp blues, and Texas blues. Plus performances with his sons, and some Sam Cooke to round things out. Elwood closes out the show with new music from the charismatic and unique bluesman Jake La Botz. AIR DATES: May 13-14, 2017 STREAM DATES: May 19-25, 2017 www.TheBluesMobile.com
