Gydra - Lava Run (Eatbrain093)

// artist @gydramusic facebook.com/gydramusic/ // label facebook.com/Eatbra1n twitter.com/eatbra1n // release date Beatport Excl. 13.12.19 & Worldwide - 27.12.19 Having survived the treacherous path that now lay behind them, a group of ardent adventurers found themselves before the gates of a great temple, shrouded in mists atop the highest peak in their land. From within rang out a titanic voice that shook the earth with its every word, permeating the very souls of those who stood before the gate. “Hear me, supplicants to this temple” rang its initial call, “Know that you tread upon the grounds of Snake Monastery, and that you shall face many tests and trials should you seek to proceed in whatever quest hath brought you here. You now face the LAVA RUN, and should you hope to continue you must prove your worth.” These words the voice left to echo throughout the mountain peaks as the adventurers set to the task before with utmost resolve. Utilizing every ounce of their combined might, they heaved open the doors to the great temple, which shuddered open to reveal a most terrifying sight. Approaching unstoppably towards them was a boulder of titanic size, seemingly unseated from its pedestal by the gate’s monumental motion. With practiced synchronicity the adventurers sprang into action, preparing to meet the boulder head on in the midst of its fast approaching onslaught. Yet, at the last moment before their inevitable collision, one amongst the adventurers raised a single fist and struck with all of their might at the boulder’s core. With nary a second remaining before it would have crushed the party beneath its incomprehensible mass, the boulder was reduced to naught but dust, and the path forwards through the temple lay open. “It seems you are indeed of the strength to continue,” came the voice from within “but brawn alone will not grant you admittance to the Snake Monastery’s inner sanctum. Continue further, if you are truly worthy, and face the next trial!” GYDRA return to EATBRAIN with their latest single, LAVA RUN. Following a dearth of releases across labels such as Bad Taste Recordings, C4C Recordings, EATBRAIN, and their own label Neuropunk Recordings, GYDRA’s latest single sees the duo displaying the raw force of their sonic capabilities at maximum capacity as they seek to discover who amongst the EATBRAIN horde is strong enough to complete this trial and those yet to come.

Out now on vinyl: http://www.redeyerecords.co.uk/vinyl/53944-eatbrain010-zombie-cats-mefjus-logam-must-eat-ep Beatport exclusive: http://www.beatport.com/release/must-eat-ep/1333317 11th August World wide digital release EATBRAIN presents the debut EP from the enigmatic production duo known as Zombie Cats - "Must Eat" EP! Having crawled from the vortex earlier this year - bursting onto the neurofunk scene with two massive tracks on Eatbrain's Tales of the Dead LP - the ultra-talented duo isn't wasting any time unleashing their next dancefloor invasion. Their latest offering sees Zombie Cats raise the pressure with four tracks, featuring top-rate collaborations and produced with the consistency and quality of seasoned veterans. Zombie Cats collude with Mefjus on the titular 'Must Eat', an eerie dancefloor concoction replete with sinister whispers, heavy rhythms and futuristic sound design. Classic Eatbrain vibes. Atlanta, USA-based Logam features on the weighty 'Vintage', while MC Kryptomedic leaves his mark on the ruthlessly technical 'Upgrade'. Zombie Cats rounds the EP out with the diverse neuro stepper 'Moments of Truth'. True versatility from this fast-rising duo, who are proving to be a powerful force in drum & bass. Individually, the Zombie Cats each bring the heat; if you look around, they have been for years. But together, the producers form something greater (and scarier) than the sum of its parts. Take a look, if you dare. Eatbrain presents: Zombie Cats.

Under the artificial dome of the city, light from the dense urban landscape wraps itself against the overwhelming facades of towering habitats and server blocks, intermingling at the edges of imperceptible alleyways shrouded in darkness only broken by the flickering nocturnal emblems of deep night haunts of sleaze and virtual hedonism. The twins are at home here, every edge of the city mapped in their hybrid cerebellum, connected exquisitely with inter-dimensional technology stolen from the most intimate grasp of the AI governing the sprawl. Shattering the silence of the night with the abrasive roar of refined combustion and the precisely engineered mechanisms of their vehicles, the streets fly beneath them - acting as one, every corner taken with nothing to spare, utterly in the present - surgeons of the moment. The drones giving chase have no chance, unable to compensate for the perfectly calculated errors of humanity, every recalibration coming too late - THE CHASE is relentless and swift ... the immaculate pair vanish into the dense depths of the labyrinthine underworld with their haul of sonic artifacts. Remarkable twin Russian production entity, Gancher & Ruin, follow up last year's induction to the label on Eatbrain's Mirror Universe LP with THE CHASE EP, delivering 4 powerful neurofunk weapons including a collaboration with label boss JADE in the form of gargantuan track JUMP! Known widely in the circles of the darkest drum and bass for their heavy sound, with this release the pair demonstrate a complex understanding of neurofunk, moving deftly between verdant sci-fi beauty and dense raw energy. Solo tracks THE CHASE, ELEMENTAL and DRAGONFLY are packed with dense energy for the dance floor, bringing Gancher & Ruin firmly further into the Eatbrain fold and cementing their place in the label's powerful roster. Talk of a place where the greatest of mecha roam, gathering amongst the desolate ruins of a war prepared for and never fought. The first explorers returned with stories of low frequency weapons, harvested from the ruined depths of a subterranean complex. With these re-engineered into towering relays capable of pure sonic carnage, the lands began filling rapidly with pilgrims from distant places, offering themselves as captives to their own higher mental states. What was once a mere whisper has now become legend, with this meeting of the mightiest clans bringing forth the greatest frequency warriors to stake out their claims. EATBRAIN casts a long shadow across the fray, setting seasoned label veterans L 33 and MINDSCAPE into the hordes of adrenaline-fuelled ravers alongside recent label additions MACHINECODE and AGRESSOR BUNX - all of whom have LPs coming on the label as well as appearing at the festival. A reflection in sound of the perfect marriage between one of the best contemporary neurofunk labels and one of the most impressive live spaces that exists for drum and bass. Their old friend lay prone at their feet, the gun that ended that precious spark of consciousness still smoking in Lenny’s hands, his weathered face cast down, cold eyes staring at the carnage of his making. Blood flowed darkly from the head wound, a growing treacle puddle reflecting the moon above in its metallic embrace, each of their faces around it mirrored darkly in that slowly expanding pool of their brother’s end. The curse that had escaped his lips as he realized the betrayal was seared into their ears, the final glance spiked through with heartbreak entwined in deepest hate burned into their retinas. But for all their regret, their patriarch had spoken, made himself clear… the family is violence, but it is not the twisted pleasures that he had chased, and the family line, when crossed – is the very end of consciousness. L 33 cracks open 2018 with his inimitably heavy style of ultra funky and future-focused neuro on home imprint, Eatbrain. Following up his much-loved, cornerstone ‘KARATE LP’ on the label, the MAFIA EP delivers 5 tracks of the kind of hard-hitting, purely dancefloor drum & bass that L 33 has come to be known for, with LIGHTS OUT also featuring the smooth but sinister vocals of MC COPPA delivering the vibes. Jade - Man Eating Lizard Dragon (DNB VIP) (Eatbrain066)

//artist @jadednb facebook.com/JadeSounds/ //label facebook.com/Eatbra1n twitter.com/eatbrain_now Deep within the core of their sprawling annex, The Institution’s top minds worked diligently at their insidious craft. Their hands moved swiftly, as they worked relentlessly with the sharp tools of their mind; warping words, images, and sounds to fit their malevolent narrative. Their objective was singular, complete control exercised from the shadows, profits reaped from beyond the veil of obscurity. Trust, that most hallowed principle, was nothing to them but a tool of manipulation, exercised to to legitimize their empire. The plan was simple, a classic diversion operated on a massive scale. The creation of an enemy, the eternal outsider, one against whom the public must remain vigilant. Composed of a paradox, the outsider posed no threat, yet could never be vanquished. Instead, his reputation and the shadow of his fearful influence would loom as a spectre, a shade of darkness designed to haunt the masses. Their fear would drive them into the protection of The Institution, shepherded in the manner of livestock. From there, the extension of their complete control would be assured. The machinations of its minds completed, The Institution began its program of domination in full, disseminating its precisely produced PROPAGANDA amongst the public. Their message was erected upon the walls of their great city, proliferated throughout the mailboxes of its citizens, and across the webpages of it their tightly controlled digital network. Their message spread with viral efficiency. The citizens’ response was sublimely realised, a surge of fear through the populace, shepherding them into the arms of The Institute as they sought security in the face of the threat birthed in pure imagination. Security, The Institution was more than happy to provide; promising strength in the face of the mysterious menace. The Institution’s agents felt the power of their positions strengthen throughout the city, soon holding its highest offices in their grip, putting greater tools of control in their hands. Initiatives were passed, laws enacted, and the vaults of the city drained. The streets were the conduit of their fear, their PROPAGANDA campaign continuing in the fearful whispers of the citizens carrying the fear of The Outsider’s presence. The cycle was set, justification freely given out of fear. The Institute’s diabolic machinations ran as pure as the fear that coursed through the city. The man pulling the strings behind the revered EATBRAIN imprint, JADE, returns for his second release of the year on his home label with the fiercely executed PROPAGANDA EP, featuring the veteran skills of RIDO. Following on from the much-acclaimed AWAKE EP, Jade powerfully demonstrates that he’s back in the studio and putting his veteran knowledge of what functions on the Eatbrain dancefloor to effective use. Delivering two fresh, tech-infused DnB bangers, along with a faster tempo VIP of fan favourite MAN EATING LIZARD DRAGON, as well as a further strut in the unfolding genre mechanism of slow and meaty neuro in SPY CAR, the PROPAGANDA EP delivers the Eatbrain manifesto in exquisite form. Full of the energy and spirit that’s driven the label to dizz heights, this is an unmissable chapter in both the imprint and the label boss’s journey. //release date 17.09.2018 Beatport & Spotify excl. 01.10.2018 worldwide

// artists @bl4ckowlzdnb facebook.com/bl4ckowlz @the-clamps facebook.com/theclampsmusic // label facebook.com/Eatbra1n twitter.com/eatbra1n Under the restless blanket of a heartless night, the sculptor shifted uneasily in his atelier sleeping quarter. Slumber evaded him, every hallucination of momentary solace chased quickly into the shadows of his disquiet. Tormented by the weight of his task, to surpass the greatest creators of the past and deliver to their dynasty an icon to strike fear and awe into the hearts of the proletariat… In the depths of that darkness his mind cried out to every conceivable higher entity, light and dark – begging for the inspiration that would save him. With the encroachment of dawn, tiredness washed over him… pulling his flayed mind into a shallow sea of morbid sleep. A torrent of nightmares flooded him - visions of an amorphous entity clawing at birthing sack, a hideous soul struggling for its freedom. He awoke with a choking gasp... adrenaline flowing. Something glinted dully upon his bedside in the morning light – the razor edge of a sculptor’s blade. Picking it up and looking closely at its sharp form, covered in an obscure script. He was certain it wasn’t there in the night, it certainly wasn’t one of his… He rose from bed, moving over to the head-shaped block of clay that had awaited his touch for too long. With precision he swiftly scraped deep into the featureless façade. Gasping suddenly, he staggered back, dropping the infernal tool in horror - fear seared deep into his eyes… the clay had reacted, drawing away from the blades edge as if it was living tissue, a trickle of blood seeping out of the fresh wound. The barely shaped head was moving… writhing as if in pain, as if it couldn’t breathe – as if there was something trapped inside... He quickly picked up the blade, cutting again and again, freeing its twisted and tortured mouth, slicing away the substance piece by piece, uncovering the flesh beneath… freeing anguish-filled, bloodshot eyes that flicked around in perpetual terror. Stepping back… he looked with mouth aghast at the vision that confronted him – the head twisting to free itself from his sculptor’s block, a vision of suffering, the deep pain of reality flooding into his creation’s soul. EATBRAIN welcome French producers BL4CK OWLZ and THE CLAMPS to their powerful roster of cutting edge neurofunk creators, delivering 5 tracks sharp-edged and brutal drum and bass – perfect for sculpting the faces of ravers into deformed bass grimaces. From the annihilating percussion of title track FACE SCRAPER, through the searing and horrific but delicately driven syncopation of PRIMAL CALL and impressive impatient scattered assault of BIG SAMPLE THEORY, the FACE SCRAPER EP delivers a high degree of focused carnage. An essential addition to the ever-growing strength of Eatbrain’s relentlessly impressive output. Release date 7th November Beatport exclusive 21st November worldwide vinyl TBC

//artist @gydramusic facebook.com/gydramusic/ //label facebook.com/Eatbra1n twitter.com/eatbra1n He perched upon the barren ledge, high above the valley beyond – the place where his people had resided for an aeon of peace, withdrawn from the overwhelming technologies of the outer rim, hiding in the obscurity of tranquility. The habitat below was a mere dot against his retina, his imagination doing the work in constructing an image of the bustle of the many lives within. He carried with him the sacred resin, and carried within himself the rite of his people, handed down between generations for as long as their history could remember. His sacrifice would ensure the peace of a generation more - his torment would be their strength. Civilizations that had come before tore themselves into pieces - times of peace held the unspoken lies of restrained savagery, the bitter truth of which came frequently, and bloodily as brothers and sisters set upon each other with unbridled hatred. That dark ferocity was within him now, carefully extracted from the minds of the populace by the ancient methods, he was the vessel of his peoples’ catharsis. He hesitated a moment more, looking out to the distant peaks that had touched the heart of his eye since childhood, the gravity of the setting sun drawing his soul to the gold crested radiance of their summits. With a fluid motion he poured the resin down his gullet, felt it snaking through is entire being, searing the illumination of universal history deep within him. The staggering truths towered beyond him, twisting up in harmony before splitting, the many faces of darkness emerging, the true face of nature erupting in blackness, the unimaginable horrors that inhabit plains untouchable, the fiends that feed off life and light and invisibly, that grow in suffering… they felt his sight, knew they were exposed, their eyes turning inward to his psyche – tearing him apart, pushing through his body and erupting from within. The resin did its work… as the creatures unspeakable feasted on him across dimensions, roots burst from his ruined body, branches spiraling up trapping all in their path. A silence settled on the outcrop, nature threaded its fingers of wind through new grass, whilst the sun set against horrific merging of life and the terrifying living monument of DIVERGENCE. //release date 12th March Beatport 26th March worldwide

Each took his turn to tell a part of the story, handed through the generations by their masters. Components of a tale of the overwhelming horror of a past that others preferred to bury in myth. They spoke of a time when the coming of the night spelt death for those in the open blackness, with the pressing undead mass reaching from beyond the grave to extinguish the last embers of life, locked in a desperate struggle to crush the final beacon that sheltered the living. They spoke of he who blocked the crushing sea of extinction in the depths of each night, shielding the fragility of life with the perfection of his brutal and efficient form. The eyes of the living only greeted each new day because of the immortal techniques that had now been passed to them, the new guardians of the beacon, masters of an art now evolved – watching, waiting, perfecting their deadly art… ready for the return of those beyond death. And then the screaming started, the undulating mass of the gathering turned inward… devouring itself as limbs were separated from bodies, necks ripped as skin tore loose and the blood flowed freely over the gnashing faces of those left alive at the KILL PARTY…   GYDRA return to EATBRAIN in force, following up their well-received CYBORG EP with the dynamic, darkly driven but funk-laced assault of the KILL PARTY EP. From the old-school drenched piano and ultrafunk of the title track, to the playful sinister intent of PRIMITIVE INSTINCT, the filthy sub explorations of PROBLEM and the predatory sensibilities of IKRA – the 4 tracks within display the dynamic and exploratory character of the production outfit. This is Russian neurofunk at its finest, delivered on the platform that’s tailored exactly to the premiere kinetic nature of its content. // release date 13th November Beatport exclusive 27th November worldwide
