My last attempt at doing this song added a couple of decent synths, but after listening to it back over the last couple of weeks, I've figured it sounded WAY too similar to the original. Thus, the only thing that made sense would be to make it completely and utterly different. WIN.
Possibly the most unapologetically weeb-ish thing I've ever done. Despite having never played the game myself, this track is one of the catchiest, most addictive pieces of VGM I've ever known.
So of course, I wanted to butcher it.
So while I've been holed up at home very unwell, I've been absolutely binging Dexter again (no, I haven't gotten to THAT ending yet so my nostalgia for it remains entirely intact).
The closing music has JUST the right amount of creepy foreboding that I wanted to do something with it. So I did. Here it is.
Keeping the piano-inspired, chilled feelings for a moment. Also working on an album of VGM remakes and reworks, and so to honour the remake of Final Fantasy 7, here's a remake of a classic track from the OST.
Carrying on my current mood of covering stuff, this one was just done for a laugh.
It's so bloody catchy.
Decided to have a bit of fun with the instrumental bit at the end, didn't want to take it TOO seriously.
A track that I've always found really beautiful in its simplicity. So I've replayed it, trying not to lose some of the satisfying clicks from the old fashioned piano, added some euphoric synth parts, and given it a fresh coat of paint that I'm really proud of.
