Airpod 48 - Eli Escobar Download via iTunes itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/airpo…ndon/id545645641 "This is simply a recording of me DJing at Le Bain in New York City which has been my home since they opened 6 years ago. I did Saturdays there for 3 years and then moved to Wednesdays. Wednesdays has been awesome because the crowd is a little more open to all types of music and tempos. Since Brooklyn has taken over New York nightlife there's been a steady decline in weeknight clubbing. Something that was always happening in downtown Manhattan when I was younger. So I'm trying to bring that tradition back and it's been working pretty well! This is just a taste of a normal Wednesday night. Dance music with soul and groove. Enjoy!" - Eli

The Great Treehouse War by Lisa Graff, read by Ariana Delawari, Various

Kids vs. parents! An epic treehouse sleepover! An awesome group of friends! An exciting new book from National Book Award finalist Lisa Graff.Winnie's last day of fourth grade ended with a pretty life-changing surprise. That was the day Winnie’s parents got divorced and decided that Winnie would live three days a week with each of them and spend Wednesdays by herself in a treehouse smack between their houses, to divide her time perfectly evenly between them. It was the day Winnie’s seed of frustration with her parents was planted, a seed that grew until it felt like it was as big as a tree itself. By the end of fifth grade, Winnie decides that the only way to change things is to barricade herself in her treehouse until her parents come to their senses—and her friends decide to join. It’s kids versus grown-ups, and no one wants to back down first. But with ten kids in one treehouse, all with their own demands, things can get pretty complicated pretty fast! Even if they are having the most epic slumber party ever. In the newest novel by beloved National Book Award finalist Lisa Graff, kids have turned the tables on their parents, and all the rules have been tossed out the window. But does Winnie have what it takes to hold her ground and keep everyone happy? This story, with a pitch-perfect middle grade voice and a zany yet poignant situation, is perfect for fans of Sharon Creech, Louis Sachar, and Jack Gantos.Praise for Lisa Graff's novels:The Great Treehouse War"It’s kids vs. parents in epic fashion...Graff’s whimsical, original work is a breath of fresh air. 14. Wednesdays (Humpty Hump)

Wednesdays (Humpty Hump)

Like Emotion Picture is a pretty wild tape, like out the gate with the title track, which has a lot of the sound of Another Dimension's title track, just an eerie vibe coupled with weird samples and me whistling lol. "Chauvinly" is also dark, with strip club snares and Jennifer Hudson riffing over 808s and menacing keyboards. "The Madness" is exactly that, just heavy, heavy glitching over trap 808s and snares and sleigh bells and weird percussive samples. "Playing Favorites" is one of my favs of all time, finally took Trane's "My Favorite Things" and slowed it down to where its running 6/8 over polyrythms and dark 808s, then randomly has its jumps up to where the beat gets giddy and clubby. 5-HT is where the darkness ends for a bit, with a lush major arp as the lead and just overall a happy sound that is nearly chopped and screwed, with the only sad part being the second bassline with its intentional dissonance. Such brings you back to the darkness with "Cavernous/Lighthouse", a hard-hitting track with kalimba reverbed out as the lead and still on the same slow tempo as the track before. "Stormtrooper" balances out the light and dark with straight melancholy, with a chopped up soul sample singing over thunder and trill 808s, ending in the now-trademark glitch-screw-chop manner listeners of psychedelic trap should be familiar with. "Wednesdays" continues the melancholy, with a jazzy arp lead and Mortal Kombat samples, and more upbeat 808s with all types of percussion and ending with a creepy guitar lick resounding over it all then down the glitch-screw-chop hole it goes. "Yoga Goya" starts off bright and happy, with a laid-back guitar riff and bright piano hits and bright percussion, then breaks down to another darker riff thats more jazzy than anything, more so when coupled with the alto sax that comes in. All in all, a very chill and trippy vibe. "Dark" is just that, a very industrial, every action movie round 2012 deep saw wave sample, with deep 808s and deep snares and gun cockbacks everywhere. So Enjoy! and bump all of DPB!
