The Morning After - (Maureen McGovern Cover ) - remastered

A guilty pleasure tune of mine. This song was written for the Poseidon Adventure in 1973... Credited as Love Theme from the Poseidon Adventure and a big hit for Maureen McGovern.

9. The Morning After You

The Morning After You

I remember looking in my bathroom mirror one morning and breaking out into a chorus of Maureen McGovern’s 70’s hit, “The Morning After.” Several cups of coffee later, I put the finishing touches on this straight-up- country- dance-hall number.

11. Smooth Sunday Morning Sounds (AOR On The Radio Series)

Smooth Sunday Morning Sounds (AOR On The Radio Series)

This latest volume of my AOR On The Radio series is my medicine for a Saturday night hangover. Most of the tracks are either by ladies (they are definitely in a minority on AOR Disco) or about them. For example, 'Arianne' by The Neville Brothers was the song that gave me the inspiration for this mix. I don't quite understand his exact relationship to her (“she’s the smell of coffee brewing, on a quiet, rainy Sunday”), but this is one of the best love songs ever. The track is from their self-titled album that came out in 1978. It took courage to make a country soul album in the midst of the disco heyday. The original version of ‘Arianne’ is from soul singer Johnny Mathis. It appeared on his Killing Me Softly With Her Song album that was released in 1973). Rod McKuen, who recorded the song two years later, wrote on his official site that the song is a translated French poem. Picture: Ian Levine Tracklist: Maureen McGovern – The Morning After (1972) Maxine Weldon – I Want Sunday Back Again (1975) The Neville Brothers – Arianne (1978) Love ‎– Alone Again Or (1968) Ruthann Friedman – Typical Sunday (1960s) Bojoura – The Letter (1974) Don Blackman – Holding You, Loving You (1982) FCC – Let The Love On Through (1980) Chaka Khan – Any Old Sunday (1981) Mark Capanni ‎– I Believe In Miracles (1974) Madelaine – Who Is She And What Is She To You (1978) Kenny Pore – My Heart Knows (1985) Jim Capaldi – Wild Dogs (1979) Steve Harley – Riding The Waves (Live) (2004) Four80East – Hold A Candle (2015) Valentine Brothers – King Size Bed (1979) Young Gun Silver Fox – Saturday (2015)

14. Episode 55 - Movie Theme Songs

Episode 55 - Movie Theme Songs

Are movie theme songs even a thing anymore? They used to be EVERYWHERE, those soundtracks of summer that made us want to go see the film. Let’s be real, we all know at least one earworm that rolled during the credits that we can still sing in our sleep. But do we always remember the movie it came from? We present a few of the songs that managed to eclipse the movies from whence they came to become classics in their own right, plus a whole bag of ugly sonic miscues that you will wish had stayed forgotten. Plus, here is the only Movie Theme Song Playlist you will ever need: https://open.spotify.com/user/magnificentlyhuge/playlist/4e0KPVasz1bshnSs8tfWe1?si=KLx_QammSTGDnlQnf-gOJw 0:00 Intros 5:00 The Fresh Shit 19:33 Movie Theme Songs: ground rules Huey Lewis and the News: The Power Of Love Bell Book and Candle Boy’s Night Out Michael Giacchino: Incredits 2 Utada Hikaru: Don’t Think Twice (Kingdom Hearts 3) Control trailer Charles Aznavour: Parce que tu crois: Oceans 8 Ray Parker Jr.: Ghostbusters Bobby Brown: On Our Own Rick Astley: Never Gonna Give You Up Celine Dion: My Heart Will Go On Whitney Houston: I Will Always Love You Survivor: Eye of the Tiger Joe “Bean” Esposito: You’re the Best Isaac Hayes: Theme From Shaft Marvin Gaye: Trouble Man Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes: Up Where We Belong Irene Cara: What A Feeling Rose Royce: Car Wash The Ramones: Rock and Roll High School Prince: Batdance Debby Boone: You Light Up My Life Limp Bizkit: Take A Look Around Larry Mullen and Adam Clayton: Theme from Mission: Impossible Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes: (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life Will Smith: Men In Black Will Smith: Wild Wild West Starship: Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now Bryan Adams: (Everything I Do) I Do It For You Bryan Adams: Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?
