2. Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band feat. Pete Simpson "Fashion" Limited Free Download

Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band feat. Pete Simpson

My jazz funky boogie remake of one of my favourite Bowie songs originally came out in 2008. I thought it would be a cool thing to give it away as a free download for a few days in honour on the man's untimely early death. This isn't like giving away an edit of one his songs, something i don't own, this is my recording and copyright, his estate should still get paid for the song writing royalty. Hope you enjoy. R.I.P David Bowie

3. The Sunburst Band - In The Thick Of It feat. Angela Johnson (Opolopo Boogie Remix)

The Sunburst Band - In The Thick Of It feat. Angela Johnson (Opolopo Boogie Remix)

Available now from: http://www.zrecords.ltd.uk http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=show&fc=tpage&cr=titles&cv=181267 The Sunburst Band's lush "In The Thick Of It" has been a big club and radio hit throughout the summer, one that has even won praise from diehard fans of the Brenda Russell original. Now Sweden's Opolopo (hot from his Gregory Porter “1960 What” rework) gives the track an 80’s boogie/proto house rework. Squelchy stabs and funked up synth bass make this a sure fire winner for both the muso’s and dancefloors. Yes, there are quite a few boogie influenced house tracks but most of them are based around big samples, where as this contains none. If you prefer things a little less vocal then check the Boogie Body Land Dub, this grooves along without any house clichés. DJ Reactions: Dimitri From Paris - Now, that's what I call music, fantastic remixes Ashley Beedle - A lovely set of mixes from that man Opolopo. Big support Justin Winks aka Casio Social Club - This is hot, seriously HOT King Britt - Fantastic rework and Opolopo always represents.... Big ups to Joey for making it happen! Danny Krivit – Very cool Johnny Fiasco - I just humped my speakers... Jask - Nice funky boogie vibes Dave RedSoul - Very nice! Robert Owens – Nice mix Hed Kandi – Dope Glenn Underground - Nice for a change of feel (Dopeness) in that 80's persona Richard Earnshaw – Love it Sean McCabe - Hot synth-bass driven groove from Opolopo. Very nice re-touch CJ Mackintosh - Great Remix Kiko Navarro - Super ultra funky biznezz! Cherokee - GOLD! This is my kind of Music! Dario d'Attis - Wonderful vocals Martin Ikin - Love it Terry Hunter - Opolopo Kills another song and I mean that in a good way! Great remix ATFC - Very cool! Jazz FM - Loving that groovy moogie bass Graeme Park - Oh joy, oh joy, oh joy. Glorious! Full support from me

The Sunburst Band - Definition Of Luv (Sean McCabe Remixes)

Available Now from: http://www.zrecords.ltd.uk/new-releases Another standout track from the recent Sunburst Band album is the boogiefied house cut ‘Definition of Luv’ featuring Diane Charlemagne. Rising star Sean McCabe once again comes through with a brilliant remix adding his trademark deep and soulful house sound using Diane’s vocals to great effect. His Main mix is one for the soulful house heads while his Definition of Dub goes a bit deeper and dubby. As always Joey Negro turns in his own extended album mix and Dubstrumental stretching out the original making the most of the 80's style synth parts.

7. Joey Negro and The Sunburst Band - The Secret Life of Us (Album Clips)

Joey Negro and The Sunburst Band - The Secret Life of Us (Album Clips)

Available now from: http://www.zrecords.ltd.uk As the sun-drenched months descend upon us, Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band unleash their highly anticipated 4th studio album titled ‘The Secret Life Of Us’ on Z Records. Packed with Sunburst signature sounds - a lush cross pollinating hot soul, jazz, funk, electro-boogie and disco dazzlers, ‘The Secret Life Of Us’ is their most exciting adventure into modern soulful music yet! Who could resist the catchy Chic style disco of the title track with its story of an illicit affair or the witty, “this woman wears the trousers”, 2 step boogie 'My Way'. Things get jazzier on the moody electro 'Jazz The DMX' with Blue Note piano and dubby weirdness, while the rolling down tempo pimp groove of 'Opus de Soul' has beautiful lush live strings that even Barry White might be proud of. Even echoes of the Doobie Brothers resonate through 'Caught In The Moment'. The album also features their glimmering disco-tinged outing, 'In The Thick Of It’, which hit the Traxsource No.1 spot in just 4 days of release! What is common throughout ‘The Secret Life Of Us’ is the attention to detail and labour of love that's gone into crafting this wonderful collection of fantastic songs, all performed by a truly heavyweight collective of talent! "Making a Sunburst Band album can be bit of a slog, be it a mainly pleasant slog. All those days and nights spent sweating heavily over the mixing desk take their toll on even the best-made pair of disco underpants ;-). As cheesy as it may sound I'm doing this because I love it and I want to put the musicality and craftsmanship from the music I grew up with into The Sunburst Band" - Joey Negro ‘The Secret Life Of Us’ features band members who regularly play live around the world headed by singers Pete Simpson and Donna Gardier. The nucleus of Tony Remy (guitar), Julian Crampton (bass) and Frank Tontoh (drums) are also joined by a selection of vocal stars from the soulful scene including Angela Johnson, Noelle Scaggs, Darien and Vivienne McKone. Combine this standard of musicianship with strong songs and Dave's sharp arrangements and you've got a potent brew both in the studio and on the live stage. Joey co-wrote most of the songs with Diane Charlemagne, who many will know from Goldie's ‘Inner City Life’. “Diane is super talented and writes with wit and intelligence”, says Joey. Diane also performs vocals on ‘My Way’, 'Definition of Love' and the album title track with Donna Gardier. “Normally I start writing a song with keys and vocals, until I'm totally happy with the melodic structure and lyrics. Once I'm sure it's up to scratch I get the band in and always make sure I record a performance - that's crucial. I want the playing to intensify and go somewhere but without loosing the groove" - Joey Negro

13. The Sunburst Band - Fouk + Daniel Crawford Remixes

The Sunburst Band - Fouk + Daniel Crawford Remixes

Available now - http://www.zrecords.ltd.uk/new-releases Here Comes The Sunburst Band (Fouk Remix) U Make Me So Hot (Daniel Crawford Remix) Here Comes The Sunburst Band (Original Mix) Dutch duo Daniel Leseman & Hans Peeman have only been producing as Fouk since 2014 with their debut release for Outplay Records immediately catching the attention of Boiler Room. An acclaimed remix of Lay-Far for Sweden's Local Talk Records and their Kill Frenzy EP for Detroit Swindle's Heist imprint plus more remixes for the likes of Kraak & Smaak and Razor-n-Tape cemented the duo as ones to watch for the future. Now they deliver a remix for Z Records taking the title track from The Sunburst Band's classic 1998 debut album and giving the bassline driven funk cut an energetic jazzy 4/4 makeover. Daniel Crawford is keyboard player to many a big name including Raphael Saadiq, Mary J Blige and Angie Stone as well as producing and remixing himself. The LA based musician released his debut jazz album titled "Red Pill" in 2012, also producing mix tapes in tribute to J Dilla, Michael Jackson and Fela Kuti catching the ear of the likes of Gilles Peterson. For ZR Daniel reworks another track from the first Sunburst Band debut album, their cover of Barbara Lynn's classic "U Make Me So Hot" giving it a more percussive, bass heavy rework that highlights his imitable keyboard skills. DJ Reactions: Tensnake - great stuff, all killer Hot Toddy - Loving Fouk's stuff at the moment and this remix doesn't disappoint Opolopo - Loving that Fouk stomp! 17. The Sunburst Band - Where The Lights Meet The Music feat. Darien (Atjazz / Joey Negro Remixes)

The Sunburst Band - Where The Lights Meet The Music feat. Darien (Atjazz / Joey Negro Remixes)

Available now from: http://www.zrecords.ltd.uk/new-releases One of the highlights from the new Sunburst Band album is the collaboration with US nu soul singer Darien on ‘Where The Lights Meet The Music". Darien's vocal delivery has been compared to Slave's Steve Arrington, so it works perfectly over the low slung bass line and boogie style funk of Joey Negro’s new Extended Mix. Deep house stalwart Atjazz remixes the track adding his own hypnotic groove based approach. His Vocal Mix keeps the song in full while the Syncopated Dub strips out most of the vocals just leaving the echoing chants over the tech style bassline. DJ Reactions: Danny Krivit – Nice one DJ Spinna – Stella shit Karizma - Stooopid Dope! Rocky (X-Press 2) - Wow! That Atjazz mix. Love it. Support from here. DJ Spen – Monster, love it. 19. The Sunburst Band feat. Noelle Scaggs - Dialed Up (Andreas Saag and Joey Negro Remixes)

The Sunburst Band feat. Noelle Scaggs - Dialed Up (Andreas Saag and Joey Negro Remixes)

Available now from: Z Records: http://www.zrecords.ltd.uk/new-releases Beatport: http://www.beatport.com/release/joey-negro-and-the-sunburst-band-feat-noelle-scaggs-take-it-to-the-top-andreas-saag-remixes/959677 Traxsource: http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=show&fc=tpage&cr=titles&cv=178066 The general consensus has been that "The Secret Life of Us" CD is the strongest album yet from Joey Negro's Sunburst Band. Recently managing to top the Solar Sweet Rhythms chart, Starpoint Soul Chart, Amazon Dance chart, now we start to see some of the cuts in extended remixed form. The brassy disco funk jam "Dialed Up" gets an extended beefed up treatment from Joey Negro. As always with Sunburst tunes the instrumentation is top notch, while Noelle Scaggs vocals ride beautifully over the top. For those who like things a bit more electronic Andreas Saag delivers a brilliant remix that retains the jazziness of the original but underpinned by a crazy syncopated bassline. Dimitri From Paris - Always top notch production Lovebirds - Saag remix is huge!! Deetron - Andreas never let's us down, great remix!! CJ Mackintosh - Joey Mix for me...lovely!
