5. Something New (Just Drive)

Something New (Just Drive)

I tracked six songs between 2009 & early 2011 and three made it to this album release titled "Young." Although I had been writing for about four years at the time of these being recorded, I still was so young to the industry and had no idea where it was going to take me. I was young in many aspects of life, really, and that's why I felt "Young" was the perfect title. I do strongly believe these were the first songs I was truly proud of, vocally, melodically, lyrically, my playing ability.. and I would have been comfortable with them representing who I was as a writer at that time. They set my standard of anything I was wanting to achieve and to grow from and into where I have grown currently in my writing process. These were written right before Laren Rapp and I started Field of Kings so I never got to push them in any form or shape. I always really enjoyed the writing I had done with these works and figured they should be in the world rather than just sitting on a disc in my house. So in cheerful thoughts and memories to the times and moments of those years where you found yourself, enjoy them as you are today.

18. Silent Night

Silent Night

This is a holiday song that I sing mentally and randomly year round. I've always only gone through the first chorus and then repeated it over and over again, for no real reason other than I didn't know the words to the rest of the song when I was growing up. So I took that to the next level and tracked it with the little red circle.
