Russian duo Matisse & Sadko have made big waves through their collaborations with Martin Garrix — namely Forever, Together, Dragon and Break Through The Silence, with well over 120 million plays between them. Now it’s time for them to make their long-awaited solo debut on STMPD RCRDS, and they’ve made it worth the wait.
Teaming up with upcoming Norwegian talent, Hanne Mjøen, the duo have cooked up something really special on Into You. Intertwining pianos and distant filtered guitars combine as the track begins before Mjøen’s delicate vocals glide in and a hip-hop flavoured beat drops. Her heavenly delivery builds the track up as the beat speeds up, and when the bright bursts of synth chords and sweet lead line are unleashed it’s one seriously powerful moment. The melancholy lyrics fit the track perfectly, the bittersweet feel trading places with the triumphant vibe of those drop sections. With such teasing moments of the track in full swing, we can hope for a full-on remix that amps those sections up all the way.
Fête crashes into life while the chattering snares keep the rhythm flowing. It’s modern tech house done very slickly indeed but with enough spice to keep things interesting. The track received its worldwide premiere on Danny Howard’s prestigious BBC Radio 1 show, one of the world’s most listened to dance music programs.
New Dutch tech house duo Silque are currently working hard on their vision: putting the raw tech house vibe fully back into the club scene of today. And they have proven to be successful with this. Their first EP release ‘Serenity’ in 2017 they already gained support from major acts like Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez, Annie Mac, Nic Fanciulli and Agoria amongst others.
With fans clamouring for the track since its release, it looks like STMPD RCRDS has another hot ticket on their hands.
You might remember the Electrophants, who did some bloody great electro releases and remixes on Basserk & BMKLTSCH RCRDS. Saddly the Electrophants split up, happily Borren continued with new addition Vincent... after a short while they decided to change the name and make a fresh start as U KNOW & THE DRILL. In this new outfit they still create electro bangers, but they've shifted more towards a Bass & House style. The title track of this first EP is a good example, a mixture between House & Electro, while Hoes & Discoes is more traditional electro.
Tell us what you think of this new approach? This is what others had to say:
